Our November Unicorns of the month are Margo and Dr. Manion!! 🦄

🌟Margo is one of our top-notch Vet assistants that has been with us for almost 5 years! She shows up every day ready to work, ready to help, and ready to jump in wherever she’s needed to support her co-workers! Her positive, cheery attitude keeps our team smiling throughout the day! She has strong technical skills and is cross-trained in every position in the hospital, making her an invaluable part of our hospital! We’re so grateful to have you on our team, Margo! Thank you for everything you do! 🦄🌟

🌟 Dr. Manion joined Southside last July after graduating from the Virginia–Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine
and she has settled in perfectly! We are so glad she joined us, because she has already become such a wonderful addition to our team! Dr. Manion works diligently to ensure every pet receives the highest quality of care and compassion. Her dedication to her patients is incredible! She goes above and beyond to ensure every pet receives the very best medicine and the loving care they deserve! We’re so grateful she chose us for the start of her veterinary career, and we look forward to watching her grow and thrive with us for years to come! 🦄🐾

🎉Celebrating 5 Years with Charis Stokes! 🎉

🌟Five years ago, Charis joined our team fresh out of the University of Tennessee with her Animal Science degree — and she has been unstoppable ever since!
She’s grown from a veterinary assistant into one of our lead technicians, excelling in both medical care and surgical skills! Her compassion for pets, dedication to patient care, client education, and her calm, caring nature make her truly one of a kind! We are SO lucky to have her as part of our Southside hospital family. 💛🐾 Thank you Charis, for your dedication, talent, and hard work. You’ve helped shape who we are today, and we’re so thankful for all you do!! 🌟🐾💕

It's getting chilly! 🥶Cold weather can affect your pet's joints, skin, activity, and routines. Here are a few tips to prepare your pet for wintertime:
- Provide a warm and cozy space off of the floor and away from drafts
- Sweaters or jackets are great for short-haired, small or senior pets
- Limit your pet's time outside in the extreme cold
- Some pets' nutrition needs might change during the winter. Talk to your vet if you think this might be the case.

She’s known for keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes— making sure our hospitalized and surgical patients receive top-notch care, while also mentoring and assisting team members whenever needed!
With her calm presence, confident skillset, and deep compassion for animals, Charis brings excellence to every patient and every case! 🦄Judy is one of our newest members of our team and already such a valuable part of it!
Judy joined us last May after earning her Veterinary Technician degree from Columbia State, and she’s hit the ground running ever since!
