Hi. I'm Paris, and I've been in Paws New England's program for 6 months (and a Mississippi shelter even longer....) and haven't had any adoption interested at all.

I just celebrated my 3rd birthday in the shelter. πŸŽ‚ Not exactly where I thought I'd be when I turned three, but here we are...

I'm not sure why no one wants me. Is it because I'm not a couch potato?

I'm a Husky mix (but I think there may be some lab in there too?! People love labs, right?!). I like to run, play, bounce around, and have fun. If you're looking for a dog who wants to spend all day hiking, exploring, playing with other dogs who like to REALLY play, and making you laugh, I'm your girl.

I know my energy isn't for everyone. But I also know it's perfect for someone.

Plus, I'm only 48lbs. Just a little medium-sized girl.

I know it's a lot to ask, but would you maybe be open to fostering me? Or better yet, adopting me?

I'd really like to spend the rest of the summer somewhere other than a shelter. ❀️

This handsome hunk is Travis. He's 40 bs of muscle that you can cuddle and squish all day long. He was found as a stray back in December and landed in a Mississippi shelter.

Travy is smart, eager to learn, responds well to his name, and picks up commands quickly. He walks nicely on a leash, rides well in the car, and has such a loving personality.

When he got the opportunity to attend a professional training program recently, he excelled!

He loves other dogs and has a playful but submissive play style. He's also been respectful around cats. He thinks they smell good but knows they are not food! Friends, not food. Yay, Trav!

But most of all, he loves people. Whether you're heading out on an adventure or just hanging in, Travis is happy just being part of it.

At only 1.5 years old and 41 pounds, he's the perfect size and age. Past the tiny puppy stage and just a little bitty pocket pittie.

Consider adopting Travis this summer!

PUPDATE: Attached are some pictures of Carl. Getting snuggled because he just came in from the snow; going for walks and one of his favorite things to do is wiggle in the grass though he loves doing it in the snow.

Carl is the best dog. Very loving. Kids call his name when he’s out for walks. He is in perfect health and loves everybody, except cats, and everyone loves him.

His foster parents were great. They took good care of him and were very accommodating.

We have really only one really good photo of Denver... but we think this is probably the only one we need, right?

Remember this little boy - he was surrendered to Memphis Veterinary Specialists on the brink of death from parvovirus. In stepped Denver's guardian angel, John Stewart of Memphis. I'm not sure he will appreciate us identifying him, but it deserves to be said - he is an angel to many animals and rescues in Memphis, always supplying the funding needed to keep the ones who need it most alive. I am not comfortable telling you what this boy's veterinary bill was, but I can tell you it was beyond anything we could afford.

I asked John several times if he wanted to let Denver go, as he was not doing well for so long - even with the excellent care he was getting at MVS - but nope, he said, let's just do another day. And then one day, Denver decided to eat, and then he did again the next day and the next.

And now he's available for someone to adopt - that someone must be 100% committed to this boy and his future because Denver, his team, and John fought so hard for him to live.

His wonderful foster Amanda says he's now behaving like any other mischievous puppy - he is okay with the cat but barks (at 4 lbs, there's not much going on there); kids - well, you see the photo. He will run around the yard now that he's allowed at high sp*ed like a bullet.

I promise you this dog will be super popular and have 50 applications by the end of today, so if you're interested, apply. Questions sent to our email or Messenger will be answered when we can, but you will miss out; there is no question. Don't let that happen to you.

Here's the link to his bio & application - it's all up to you from this point:

PUPDATE: Thank you for contacting me about Cash, a 2 year old German Shorthaired Pointer that I adopted from PAWS New England in January 2026. He is a fine boy! I love him to pieces!

He is a Velcro GSP at home and a rocket in the field!
I am working on field obedience and field tracking of game birds. He has also had exposure to river and ocean swimming. We are also working on water and land bumper retrieving. He has settled well into my home with a 13 year old male GSP "Marcus" and a domestic shorthair cat "Mumma". No squabbles amongst the "children". He is at work with me each day at my veterinary clinic getting exposure to people and their pets.

I am SO glad that I found him on your page! He is the exact dog I was looking for! I have attached some recent photos.

🚨 POSEY NEEDS A FOSTER ASAP 🚨

We are out of options... We need our community to step up.

We don't like coming on here and begging. We don't like making posts like this. But this is the reality of rescue sometimes.

We want all of these dogs to have happy endings, but without the support of our community, that simply isn't always possible.

When Posey came up to New England, we learned she does not do well living with other dogs. Because of that, the foster home she was placed in was no longer an option, and unfortunately, our foster homes that would be appropriate for her are all currently full.

Posey has been staying in boarding while we search for another solution. We thought we had until the July 4th weekend. We don't. Posey needs to move NOW. We have called around, but with the holiday weekend approaching, we have not been able to find another boarding option.

Posey is NOT some super aggressive, mean dog. She is not lunging, growling, or losing her mind every time she sees another dog. She can walk past dogs without issue. She can see dogs walking by her crate. She previously ran the streets of Memphis with another dog...

She also absolutely ADORES people. She's sweet and affectionate and loves human companionship. She is truly happiest when she's with her people.

But where does this all leave Posey? Honestly, it's bleak... We need our community to step up. Our usual fosters are overwhelmed. Boarding is not an option. We need you now.

Maybe you're in between dogs right now...

Maybe you've been thinking about adopting and could foster this sweet girl for a little while first...

Maybe you know someone who fosters for another rescue and could share this post with them...

Maybe you have been pondering fostering yourself...

Posey has been through enough. She survived the streets of Memphis while pregnant. She lost her puppies. She made it all the way to New England.

Let's not let her down now.

You can read more about Posey here: https://pawsnewengland.com/adopt/pet/?id=14912

If you're able to foster, please contact [email protected] ASAP. We are ideally looking for a home without other pets, or someone experienced who can safely keep Posey separate.

Please, like, share, and comment on this post so it reaches far and wide.

Meet Rue 🦘 🦘 Those ears!! We can't handle it.

When Rue's family had a new baby, they decided they didn't need a fur baby anymore. So, they surrendered her to a high-kill shelter in Tennessee.

Rue did nothing wrong, but her whole life collapsed in a second. She was suddenly facing euthanasia, and her prospects were dim. Thankfully, an incredible woman stepped up and saved her just in time.

For the past 2.5 weeks, Rue has been thriving in foster care. She's an absolutely fantastic dog.

She's about 6 months old and just 25 pounds. We expect she'll be around 40 pounds full grown... no promises... but is that not the perfect size?! She loves to be held, happily entertains herself with toys, knows an impressive list of commands (sit, down, come, wait, move, and more every day), is nearly potty trained (only one p*e accident in 2.5 weeks!), and is so quiet and content in her crate.

Rue adores people, loves other dogs, and has that perfect puppy balance of playful energy and affection. She's incredibly smart, eager to learn, and wants nothing more than to be part of a family.

And guess what? She's heading to a Rhode Island foster home next week!

The family who gave her up may have decided they didn't need a fur baby anymore... We're hoping another family realizes they've been missing exactly this one. ❀️

Some dogs we have to convince you to consider. Pancake will have you wrapped around his giant fluffy paw before you even finish reading. You're probably not even reading this and are just staring at the photos, obsessed...

This sweet 19 week old Great Pyrenees mix is equal parts handsome, goofy, and affectionate. He loves EVERYONE he meets, gets along beautifully with other dogs, and has the kind of easygoing confidence that's rare in a puppy. Seriously, he's so relaxed and easy-going, it's quite amazing for a young puppy!

He's already crate trained, doing well with housetraining, and learning all the important puppy skills like a champ.

He's going to grow into a very big boy (already 38lbs!!!), but somehow we think he'll always believe he's a lap dog.
