PUPDATE: Pawpaw is doing well. He loves running around the backyard trying to catch the bunnies that pop up occasionally in the spring/summer or guarding the house with his brother, Houston (they sit on the couches in the living room and bark at everything they may or may not see through the large front window). He loves his toys, his current favorite is (not pictured) a large stuffed turkey the same height as Houston the Wheaten terrier.

Pawpaw has also grown quite a bit - he is currently 55 pounds, which is crazy considering when we got him he was lighter than Houston (initially Pawpaw was 30 pounds and Houston is 33 pounds). He just celebrated his first birthday on Oct 28, and we fed him some sautéed chicken and a meatball in addition to his dinner, to his delight!

Breezy would like to report that the stick retrieval mission was a SUCCESS. The hair? Ruined. The dignity? Questionable. The stick? SECURED! 😂

This petite, knee-high adventure enthusiast believes no stick should be left behind, no pond should go unexplored, and no opportunity for fun should be wasted.

Breezy is an energetic, affectionate girl who loves walks, hikes, playdates, and generally being where the action is. She's also a big fan of couch cuddles and movie nights once the adventures are over.

She's house-trained, leash-savvy, dog-friendly, and always ready for her next assignment.

Dorothy is a soulful, sweet girl who takes a little time to warm up. New people? She'd like to review your references first. The great outdoors? Currently under investigation.

But once she feels safe, she's a whole different dog: playful, energetic, and ready to turn your living room into a wrestling ring!

She's house-trained, loves her dog friends, and is working on trusting the world. She's not ready for leash walks or closed crates just yet, and she'll need a patient family to help her build confidence at her own pace.

Senior Sunday!

🎃 Wanda dressed up as an owned dog for Halloween… and she’s ready to make that costume a permanent reality! 🐾

After 180+ days in a Georgia shelter and a heartbreaking spot on the euthanasia list, this 9-year-old wiggle butt is finally safe in New England.

Now she’s dreaming of a forever home where she can enjoy morning walks, toys, snuggles, and all the love an adopted dog deserves.

Wanda is ready to trade her shelter days for a lifetime of being someone’s beloved girl. Could that someone be you? 💕

BOO!! 👻 Did I scare you?! Sorry, that's just my name!!

Or maybe it's my legs that scare you?

I'm a 17-week-old Treeing Walker Coonhound puppy, and my two brothers and I had a pretty frightening start to life.

We weren't given the nutrition we needed as babies, and all three of us developed rickets. Our little front legs and feet became weak and deformed, and something as simple as walking was really difficult.

I know that sounds scary. And looking at pictures of our legs when we first came into rescue might be a little shocking...

But here's where the story gets a lot less frightening!

With proper nutrition, supplements, and specially fitted braces, our bones are getting stronger and our legs are improving! We're expected to make a full recovery, and PAWS has even offered to cover the cost of braces and other care we might need in the near future.

So please don't let that scare you off!!

And now, can I tell you about the REAL Boo?!

I'm a very friendly little girl who LOVES people, other dogs, and kids. I've never met a stranger! Not even a spooky one!

I'm smart, sweet, playful, and a serious snuggler. I sleep through the night, preferably snuggled up next to my people, and I'm good in my crate during the day too.

I've also mastered the doggie door, and I'm getting really close to being fully house-trained. Pretty impressive considering I've been busy growing new, stronger bones, don't you think?!

I'd love a home with another playful dog or some kids. And yes, I'll need someone willing to keep up with my medical care and help me continue getting stronger.

But here's the best part... I'm already in RHODE ISLAND! You can actually come meet me and see how wonderful I am for yourself.

So this Halloween, I'm asking you to be brave!

Please don't let my rickets scare you away. I'm just a little puppy who had a scary beginning, and I have a whole lifetime of fun, adventures, and love ahead of me.

I promise, the only thing spooky about me is my name!

Mama Nessa was rescued as a stray in Memphis, TN, and transported to the Connecticut Humane Society. The plan was to find her a foster home where she could give birth and raise her babies.

Well... Nessa had other plans.

Just HOURS after arriving at the Humane Society, she gave birth to TEN puppies!!

PAWS New England was asked if we could take in the whole family, and of course, we said YES!

Fast-forward seven weeks, and we now have ten ridiculously cute little Pittie mixes living their best lives in a New England foster home. They're healthy, growing like weeds, and each has their own adorable little face and coloring.

They're currently around 8 lbs each, but we suspect they won't stay little for long!

These babies will be ready to go home at around 8 weeks old, with their first puppy vaccinations.
