Did you know? Since the 1990s, our team has proudly cared for the Collier County Sheriff’s Office K9 deputies – true heroes who work tirelessly to protect our community. 💙

This week, one of those heroes, Retired K9 Bear, came to us with a serious splenic mass. Bear has served alongside his handler and department with incredible loyalty, courage, and heart. 🐕✨

🐾 Meet Scottie the Scottish Fold! 🐾
Scottie came in for his wellness exam today, and he brought along a new look… the fluffy hair on top of his head was actually from his brushing! 😹 Since he sheds a lot, our team couldn’t resist giving him a funny little “hair hat.”

During a wellness exam, we:
✨ Check weight and body condition
✨ Examine eyes, ears, teeth, heart, and lungs
✨ Look for early signs of illness
✨ Update vaccines and parasite prevention
✨ Talk through diet, lifestyle, and any changes you’ve noticed
✨Recommend routine bloodwork—especially for cats, since they can be prone to kidney disease and other conditions that are best caught early

Meet our new veterinarian — Dr. Nikki Jute! 🩺🐾

We’re excited to welcome Dr. Jute to our team at Harborside Animal Clinic!

Nikki was born and raised in a small town in North Carolina. She obtained her undergraduate degree from East Carolina University before continuing on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from North Carolina State University.

Dr. Jute’s interests in the veterinary field include dermatology, ophthalmology, and behavioral medicine. She adores the special bond between animals and their owners and cannot wait to meet you all!

In her spare time, Nikki enjoys relaxing at the beach, reading, and watching hockey games. She also has two perfectly fluffy Pomeranians, named Muffin and Milo, who are her very best friends.

Please join us in giving Dr. Jute a warm welcome — we know you and your pets will love her just as much as we do!
