🍂 100 Ways to Give Fall Campaign! 🥜

We’re teaming up with the Roanoke Island Food Pantry to help make a difference in our community!

Our goal is to collect 𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝗷𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘂𝘁 𝗯𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿, and we’d love your help getting there! Every jar makes a difference for a local family in need.

We will be collecting through November 10. You can drop off a jar of peanut butter at our front desk.

Let’s come together and make this fall a little brighter for our community! ❤️ Thank you for always supporting us and our community!

Happy Pit Bull Awareness Day! 🐾

Did you know “pit bull” is actually an umbrella term for several breeds, including the American Pit Bull Terrier, American Bully, and Staffordshire Bull Terrier?

One of the biggest myths about pit bulls is that they have “locking jaws,” but it is not true. There’s also no scientific evidence that one type of dog is more likely to injure a person than another.

At the end of the day, every dog is different, and pit bulls deserve the same love and chance as any other pup. ❤️🐶

𝑯𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒊𝒔 𝒂𝒍𝒎𝒐𝒔𝒕 𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆🎃👻

Here are a few things to 𝒌𝒆𝒆𝒑 𝒊𝒏 𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒅 for your four-legged family members:

🍬 Treats are for humans! Chocolate, sugar-free candy containing xylitol, and raisins can be toxic to pets. Keep the goodies somewhere those sneaky noses can't reach.
🕸️ Keep decorations pet-safe. Fake spiderwebs, small decorations, and glow sticks can cause problems if chewed or swallowed.
🐈 Give them a quiet place to relax. Frequent doorbell rings and trick-or-treaters can be stressful, so let nervous pets hang out in a comfy room away from the commotion.
🐾 Check that costume fit! Make sure your pet can see, breathe, and move comfortably. If they're not feeling the Halloween look, don't force it!

Today we’re celebrating all things chocolate, and these pups are certainly sweet enough to make the list! These are the kind of chocolate treats we can get behind, though we can’t say the same for the actual chocolate. (Sorry, pups!)

These little house panthers can sneak up on you without making a sound, stare at you like you owe them money, and knock something off the counter while maintaining complete innocence.

Happy Veterinary Technician Week! 🐾

If you’ve ever wondered what a vet tech does all day, the answer is pretty much a bit everything. They draw blood, run lab work, take X-rays, monitor anesthesia, assist with surgeries, give medications, help with exams, and keep a close eye on our patients to make sure they’re doing okay. They’re also the ones comforting nervous pets, cleaning up accidents, answering questions, and helping worried owners feel a little better.

To vet techs everywhere - thank you for the love and care you give to every patient (and every team). You’re truly the heart of veterinary medicine. 🐾
