Friday Night Training is on July 18 & 25 and August 1,8, 15, & 22. Reserve 30 min. slot in either ring by emailing [email protected], openings can be seen at muncieobediencetrainingclub.blogspot.com. Non-members rent $10/slot payable by cash or check, MOTC members rent for free. Our building has plenty of parking, 2 potty areas, and is air conditioned.

Need a cool treat for your dog when it's hot? Drop a few buts of kibble, small treats, bits of hot dog or cheese into an ice tray. Add water and freeze. Another good treat is to peel a banana, cut it into appropriately sized chunks, put in on parchment or waxed paper and freeze.

If you're coming to classes feel free to bring a water bowl for your dog. The building is air conditioned but they can get thirsty.

Be sure that your pets can get out of the sun this weekend---dog houses don't count as they get no breeze. Steer clear of walks on asphalt and cement which can be too hot for bare paws. Provide fresh clean water, and some dogs will appreciate adding ice. Walks are best early in the morning or late in the evening.
If your dog is shedding, consider buying a grooming/shedding rake to groom them. This is shaped sort of like a garden rake but small and with blunt teeth and gets a lot of undercoat out which is what your dog sheds. Dogs cool themselves by panting and sweat only through their noses and paw pads. Short nosed dogs like Bulldogs, Pekinese, and Pugs can have trouble breathing in this weather so be sure to keep an eye on them.
