Roo’s moving has me feeling extra emotional, because it was powered by volunteers in the truest sense of the word.
People chose to show up, work hard, and carry this with us, simply because they care. We used a forklift to load and unload over 60 pallets of product, displays, and rescue equipment, plus moved shelving and gridwall, and somehow moved the entire contents of the store in just two full days. On top of that, there was help setting up product in the new space so it could start feeling like Roo’s again right away.
And it was not only the heavy lifting. People brought food, drinks, and snacks to keep everyone going, checked in, sent encouraging messages, and reminded us all day long that we were supported. That kind of care hits different when you are tired, overwhelmed, and trying to get from one chapter to the next.
This new store is not just a new location, it is a space built with community. It honestly feels like there is a piece of love from every person who helped, every snack dropped off, every text sent, every “you’ve got this” spoken into a long day. Roo’s has always been bigger than a building, but this move made that impossible to miss.
To the volunteers who showed up, lifted, loaded, organized, set up, and kept us going, thank you. Thank you for giving your time, your strength, and your hearts. Thank you for believing in Roo’s and in what we are trying to do for pets and their people. This move will always be one of those moments we look back on and never forget the love and support. 🐾💛
