Great day for scent work in LaPorte, IN!

Jacob and I split the dogs today and he ran Luna in detective and earned Q’s #22 and #23! It’s always so fun to watch them work together. Makes my heart so happy! 🥰

No Q’s for Brooks but he did a great job for such a young boy. I can’t wait to see the scent work dog he will grow into!

This girl is on fireeee🔥🎵

Luna and I traveled to Chicagoland for a weekend of scent work! She was PERFECT. She Q’d in 3/3 detective searches (Q17, Q18, Q19) and 2/2 in master container!

Sometimes you just need a weekend alone with your heart dog. 🫶🏼

Some may wonder …. Why are you still doing detective when you got your title? That’s a good question. The AKC does not currently have any higher scent work title past SWD. My hope is that one day we will have a chance to earn a higher scent work title but for now, we’ll just keep playing the game we love so much! ❤️

Introducing…. our new champion!!! 💜💙🤍

Brooks finished in style at the Greater Indy Brittany Club specialty going WD/BOW for his fourth major! Thank you judge Nicki Riggsbee.

Brooks is proudly owner handled by myself and I look forward to the fun career we will have after he grows up a bit!

Starting in conformation can be difficult but I’ve found awesome mentors and friends to guide our journey. I couldn’t have done it without my support system!

We haven’t had a haul this big in a long time!

Brooks had a great time at the N.O.S.E. Northwest Ohio Scent Work Club’s trial this weekend. He was entered in all of the elements both days and handled the long days so well.

He qualified in 14/16 runs and earned FIVE new titles. He even placed in 11 of his 14 qualifying runs!

He finished his:

Novice Exterior Title SEN
Scent Work Novice Title SWN
Advanced Container Title SCA
Advanced Interior Title SIA
Advanced Buried Title SBA

We moved up to Excellent Container and he got his first Q! 🎉

As much fun as competing/trialing/showing is, a weekend off was just what we needed!

We completed a few home projects and caught up on chores. Summer is coming up so I know our free weekends are going to be few and far between. 😅

I can’t wait for scent work trials to pick up, dock diving season in the Midwest, and clusters that have it all, where we can camp with the dogs, rest, and enjoy sports with each of the dogs!

Brooks is so close to finishing his championship. Luna is 2 Q’s away from her scent work detective title. Obie is ready to start is AKC agility career. So many fun things coming this summer… I can’t wait! 🫶🏼☀️
