Our sweet girl Tina is completely recovered from her prolapse and was released from the Vet yesterday!! She has spent the last few weeks recuperating in a foster home and has made new dog friends along the way. Tina is now ready for a forever home!! Some things to know about Tina from her foster family:
She is a very happy girl and is friendly to everybody she meets. She has the best smile. She sometimes has a cute little goat like hop when she runs.
She loves to snuggle right next to you on the couch or bed. We have been training her to lay on the floor next to the bed in case her adopter doesn’t want her on the bed. But she would love to be in bed with you and she will help keep you warm.
She is ok in the crate when we have to leave for a short time. We have never left her more than 2 hours though.
She has pretty much ignored our cat. She loves our dogs. It took a few days for our 3 dogs and Tina to adjust to each other. And we did introductions slowly and carefully to make sure it would work.
She has a dominant personality, but she will listen when the other dogs seriously tell her no. She loves to run and needs a fenced in yard.
She is pretty much potty trained. Our other dogs ring a bell to be let out. And they go out often enough she has not had to learn to tell us she needs out. She's only had 2 accidents (p*e) near the back door. Whoever adopts her will need to work on a system to teach her to let them know she needs to go out.
She has not chewed on anything other than the chew toys we have. Occasionally, she will get out a lot of chew toys and surround herself with them on the floor.
She has pretty much learned how to sit on command and to be gentle when I ask her to be gentle before I give her a treat.
She loves to be petted or brushed even though she doesn’t need it. I think she feels prettier or wants me to brush her when I brush the other dogs. Or maybe it just feels good! She doesn’t mind you messing with her paws. I pet or hold her feet so she gets used to it, and she doesn’t mind at all. She rides well in the car and likes to go places, but will need help getting in and out .
She is very food motivated and scarfs her food down. She is not a grazer, but she is not food aggressive. If you tell her no, she will leave the other dogs food alone. She will let me take food or toys away from her without any issues.
If you're interested in adopting this sweet girl, please call the shelter so that we can arrange a day and time with her foster. Please share!! Tina is simply perfect❤️
