Sending out another huge THANK YOU to the BSU sorority women pictured here! They used their Saturday afternoon last weekend to help ensure our dogs get playtime, and our campus remain beautiful by removing fall decorations, and raking leaves! We are so thankful to everyone who gives their time and energy to helping us care for the property and animals!

Update: “Dale” is actually Rider, and is the copilot of a semi! He had gotten out (he’s NEVER done that before, and now he’s microchipped!) and his owner couldn’t find him. His dad came and got him today, and Rider couldn’t have been happier to get back to riding shotgun. As soon as the passenger door opened he hopped in the car as fast as he could. We’re so happy for the reunion, and happy that we were the ones to take up the cashier on taking him, so that he could get back to his dad safely. We thank the cashier who placed him in her car when she saw him out near the highway, because this could have had a very sad ending had she not helped.

After the big day sweet Indigo had yesterday she was ready for a nap in her toddler bed!!! We want to thank all of you who donated toddler beds for our ARF babies, they absolutely LOVE them!!!

The new chihuahua mixes are doing great! Smidge, Dash, Dollop, Pinch, and Splash were loving the attention our volunteer, Cricket, was giving them! They also got to play with a staff members dog who came to work with her mama, and they did great! We are so happy they have come out of their shells and we can’t wait to see them continue their journey with us!

Indigo was a perfect angel at her eye check up! The opthamologist thinks that she had some trauma to her eyes- what happened, we don’t know- but is essence her eyes have tried to heal themselves, and overall they’ve done a decent job, but there’s still some ways to go. The medication our vet put her on helped a lot, and the good news is- she doesn’t require surgery. The not so good news (but still not terrible news) is that there’s some chance that they will continue to heal some, but more than likely they won’t make a full recovery. She’s definitely got some sight- and the vet thinks she may even improve a little more as they continue to heal- however she’ll probably never see perfectly. She’s going to start new eye medications, and she’ll be rechecked in about a month or 6 weeks to see how she’s progresssing.

Indigo was extremely happy to meet her new friends, be told how pretty she is, and get the treats at the end of the appointment!

She’s also happy to announce that she’ll soon be ready for adoption.

Thank you to everyone who has helped support ARF over the years, and specifically for Indigo’s care. We truly couldn’t do this without the support of our community.

Rudy is adopted!

⭐️ Small (20 lb) low/no shedding darling pup available for adoption ⭐️

Rudy is a cavalier/poodle (cavapoo) ready for adoption!

He’s about 9 months old, has been vaccinated for distemper/parvo, bordetella, and rabies; he’s microchipped and heartworm negative, he’s on heartworm and flea meds, and had a recent f***l parasite screening which showed no parasites.

His adoption fee includes a crates as well! We envision Rudy in a home with another calm dog, or as a companion to a person who couple looking for a perfectly sized dog to sit on their lap, maybe travel with them when they have to leave town, and enjoy walks with.

Rudy’s adoption fee is $350.

Before you comment on his fee- please note we have dogs with waived adoption fees. Rudy’s slightly higher fee will offset the waived fee for dogs that people won’t have to pay an adoption fee for. Please also keep in mind that we paid for his recent veterinary care, and that a neuter, heartworm test, and annual vaccines in town would likely cost more than $350. Please also keep in mind we are sending a new crate. Please also keep in mind Rudy will need frequent grooming which can be around $100 per visit.
