With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, we’ve had to say goodbye to our wonderful boy, Lenny. He stole our hearts the moment we saw his adorable face in a photo taken by for . , a local Philly rescue, was willing to help Lenny—but they needed a safe place for him to land. Knowing we couldn’t let a 10-year-old pup stay in a high-kill shelter, we reached out—and what was meant to be a temporary foster home quickly became Lenny’s forever home.
From the moment we brought Lenny home, we knew he was special. When he was happy or excited, he’d flash us a toothy smile—he was such a ham! Lenny knew countless tricks and would perform them all, unprompted, at the mere sight of a treat. He loved car rides, belly rubs, short walks, snuggling in bed with his people, and, of course, food. He never turned down a tasty treat! No one could kick back and relax quite like Lenny—feet up, snoring like a freight train. He loved playing with Ralphie and, well, preferred to politely ignore Rory (Rory, bless his heart, is an acquired taste). Lenny adored all people—especially his dad—along with dogs and cats alike. Honestly, aside from the dog wash hairdryer, I’m not sure there was much Lenny didn’t love. He simply loved life!
We were so honored to share the last four and a half years with him. We will miss our best bud, lovable and loyal companion, and handsome model. Leonard, you were so loved and will continue to be! Until we meet again, old man. Rest in peace, Len Len. 🕊️
A special thanks to Haven Animal Service / , Dr. Dana Taylor, Steph, Nicole (), and the rest of the staff. Lenny received quality care and love until his very last moment.
