My tomatoes really filled in since the beginning of July. I picked about 50 pounds today and will process them tomorrow evening. I still have strawberries growing in the towers, cucumbers, tomatillos, and a very full yellow egg plum tree. I love knowing where my food comes from. 🌱❤️

I just watched this video, https://youtu.be/kCcToUcCSXQ?si=PYBt4xcZbT41-t76 and thought how blessed I am with the knowledge my mom and family passed down to me. Just a few pictures from the past few days. Turkeys hanging out, some pico de gallo from the garden, and a delicious yogurt parfait with blueberry preserves from my pantry that I preserved last season.

Steve had a great 4th of July, he wanted the cake but settled for some ribs instead. I think it was a good trade. The tomatoes are getting big, and there are several surprise tomatillos popping up in the garden as well as a few volunteer tomatoes.

Since it is frowned upon in this establishment to feed ice cream to ducks, we have treated them to some frozen peas in ice cold water. And if you're a duck that's basically the same thing.

I experimented with my sourdough today, and it turned out okay. I made a lazy loaf, after bulk fermentation on the counter I didn't shape it. Just dumped it into my cast iron Dutch oven and baked it as normal. Shaping and cold ferment make a big difference. This will be gone soon enough, and I can make another one. 😊

Happy Mother's Day! 🌸🌺🌻 I received a tomato strainer for mother's Day. It took 3 min to separate the seeds and peels from 5 pounds of tomatoes. I am amazed. I will have to get some fresh basil and cook this down into some delicious marinara sauce. There was very little waste from the tomatoes, the last picture is all that got strained out of the 5 pounds.
