✨ Sometimes it may look like our surgery team performs magic, but the reality is even more impressive. Their success comes from years of advanced training, experience, dedication, and a commitment to providing the highest level of care for our patients.

Recently, Dr. Kylie Roux repaired this severely fractured leg using a specialized bone plate with assistance from Brianna Monahan and Angelina Drake. During surgery, the broken bone fragments had to be carefully realigned and stabilized to ensure proper healing and allow the implanted hardware to function correctly.

Thanks to skilled surgical planning and precise ex*****on, this patient is recovering well and was able to avoid amputation.

We are incredibly proud of our surgical team and grateful for the opportunity to help pets return to happy, active lives. ❤️🐾

🐾 **Heartworm Cases on the Rise in the Twin Lakes Area** 🐾

Dr. Katelyn Barnett at All Creatures Midway Animal Clinic has diagnosed three heartworm-positive dogs from the Lakeview and Bull Shoals area in just the past week. Unfortunately, these are not isolated cases. Our veterinarians at All Creatures Veterinary Hospital's other clinic locations have also identified numerous heartworm-positive dogs recently.

Heartworm disease is caused by a parasite that is spread through the bite of an infected mosquito. Once transmitted, the worms can grow inside a dog's heart, lungs, and blood vessels, leading to serious and potentially life-threatening damage if left untreated.

The good news is that heartworm disease can often be prevented and detected early with routine veterinary care.

At your dog's veterinary visit, we can:
✅ Perform a simple blood test to check for heartworms.
✅ Screen for other mosquito- and tick-borne diseases.
✅ Recommend safe and effective monthly heartworm prevention.
✅ Discuss treatment options if your dog tests positive.

Heartworm treatment is available and can be very successful when started promptly. However, treatment is much more expensive and carries more risk than prevention, making year-round heartworm prevention the best option for protecting your pet.

Mosquitoes are active throughout much of the year in Arkansas, so we strongly encourage pet owners to keep their dogs on heartworm prevention every month, regardless of the season.

If your dog is not currently on heartworm prevention or has not been tested within the last year, please contact your veterinarian to schedule an appointment.

It is a dream come true to have this facility in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Nuclear medicine provides a valuable treatment modality for hyperthyroidism in cats and osteoarthritis in synovial joints, and is usually only available in large cities and veterinary medicine schools. This facility is the only nuclear therapy center in our region, and they treat animals from multiple states because pet owners are willing to travel for the life-changing and life-saving therapies.
