It feels like just yesterday that we were opened our doors and welcomed our very first clients! Here's a little throwback to where it all began— with big dreams, a lot of hard work, and plenty of excitement! 🎉

We’ve come so far since then, and it’s all thanks to YOU—our amazing clients (and patients), team, and community. Your support has helped us grow, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds!

As you celebrate, don’t forget about your furry friends! Keep chocolate, Easter grass, and small decorations out of their reach. Be mindful of toxic flowers and spoiled eggs. Let’s keep Easter safe and fun for everyone! If you are worried your pet has ingested anything they should not give us a call!

Don’t let allergies spring up on your pets—because just like you, they’re not immune to the changing of the seasons! One minute, they’re chasing their favorite toy, and the next, they’re frantically licking, scratching, and shaking “Oh My!”. Pollen isn’t just the enemy of your sinuses—your furry friends feel it too. So, if your pet’s suddenly obsessed with their paws or shaking their heads its time to bring them in! So call us to schedule an appointment for your pet if they start to exhibit signs of allergies! Keep an eye on your pets, and don’t let allergy season catch them off guard—they’ll thank you with extra cuddles (and maybe a few extra sneezes).

As the weather starts to heat up a topic keeps popping up: Heartworms! A common misconception is that they are only a concern in the warmer months as they are transmitted by infected mosquitoes, but that is incorrect. Heartworms are a problem year-round. Did you know that mosquitoes can survive through the winter even in the colder northern climates. The best way to keep your pets safe and protected is to keep them on Heartworm Prevention year-round. There are so many preventions on the market today, from monthly chews, shots that last for 6 or 12 months, and monthly combo chews that also protect from fleas and ticks. With so many different options out there we can help you decide which one will work best for you and your family, ask your doctor and tech about Heartworm prevention at your pets' next visit. If you have questions about Heartworms or would like to know more, please feel free to give us a call or check out the American Heartworm Society's website to learn more.

Today is Dog Therapy Appreciation Day, We’re celebrating the amazing therapy dogs (and cats) who bring comfort, joy, and healing to those in need. Therapy dogs are not just adorable—they’re trained to offer comfort to individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, and more, offering a calming presence and unconditional love. Their ability to connect with people and help them heal is truly remarkable. These specially trained dogs provide emotional support and comfort in hospitals, nursing homes, schools, and even during stressful situations like therapy sessions.

Callie is a patient here at Blue Oasis, and when she isn’t melting hearts and soaking up attention here, she has an important job to do as a therapy dog with Nashville Therapy Pets. She is a pro at providing comfort and giving cuddles( we should know). Even hard working dogs like Callie need a break every once in a while… its hard being that cute!

Hello BOPH Family! We have a friendly reminder from Dr. Lucas that just because something is labeled as a pet product, it doesn't always mean it's safe for our furry friends. Even though those chews may seem harmless, they can actually cause some serious issues for your pet's dental health. If you're curious about safe alternatives to elk antlers or similar treats, don't hesitate to reach out to us! You can also explore the Veterinary Oral Health Council's website for an excellent list of approved treats and products that are great for keeping those teeth clean!

Just like us, our furry friends can experience high or low blood pressure, which is why regular check-ups are important. Whether it’s part of their wellness routine or a way to check for underlying health issues, monitoring your pet’s blood pressure is a key step in ensuring they live a long, healthy life.

So, the next time your vet tech measures your pet’s blood pressure, don’t worry—it's just another way we're making sure your pet feels their best! If you have questions about blood pressure readings or how we make blood pressure checks a Fear Free™ experience, please give us a call.

🔥April Fools or false alarm alert? But don't worry, it's just our clinic's way of testing our emergency evacuation skills. The clinic is open and running smoothly as always (with no blaring alarm of course), so no need to panic and no need to break out the marshmallows for an impromptu fire drill picnic - everything's a-okay and we're open as usual! Big thank you to the Mt. Juliet Fire Department for getting the alarm turned off in such a jiffy!

You might have noticed that once a month on a Monday, Blue Oasis closes from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wondering why? Well, once a month, our wonderful staff gathers for an off-site meeting! This is a special time for us to connect, have discussions, and even explore exciting advancements in our field.

Our latest meeting was incredibly productive, filled with engaging discussions and innovative ideas. Nurse Leah and Nurse Megan presented a refresher course on Fear Free Techniques and handling. It’s truly motivating to come together as a team, align our goals, and ensure we’re all on the same path. A huge thank you to our amazing team for their dedication and hard work. Let’s keep this momentum going, I wonder what we will discuss next month!

Hello BOPH family! Meet Zeva, a 4.5-year-old domestic shorthair in search of a forever home. Sadly, her owner recently passed away, leaving her family unable to care for her. Zeva is a sweet yet shy cat who has been spayed and is up-to-date with all her vaccinations as of March 2025. She enjoys birdwatching and chin scratches and was a good girl during her exam. Zeva also gets along well with other cats. If you have any questions about Zeva or are interested in adopting her, please call us at (615)975-2583.

Before & After: Dog Dental Transformation
Check out this amazing dental transformation! Jolene came in for an annual exam where her owner mentioned she had some bad breath ... like really bad. After a very thorough dental cleaning Jolene feels like a brand new dog, and her owner is excited that Jolene's bad breath problem has been solved.

Before: Yellowing, tartar buildup, bad breath, and plaque affecting her teeth and gums.
After: Fresh, clean teeth and a much happier pup!

Regular dental care is SO important for your pet’s overall health. Keep those smiles shining, and don’t forget to call us to schedule your next dental checkup!

At Blue Oasis, laser therapy is an exceptional resource that aids in managing chronic pain and promotes wound healing. By delivering penetrating light into the tissue, laser therapy generates warmth and can provide pain relief. This mechanism stimulates endorphin production, enhances blood circulation to the affected area, reduces inflammation, and boosts cellular repair, all of which contribute to expedited tissue healing. If you would like to learn more about Laser therapy or see if it could help your pet deal with chronic pain please reach out to us.

If you weren’t aware, Blue Oasis has a YouTube channel brimming with informative videos covering topics ranging from annual wellness exams to various illnesses and diseases that may affect your pets.
