Ok friends. I need you to stay calm!!! I know I’m about to blow the internet up by posting these babies, but they deserve a proper introduction. Say hello to our newest Mighty Miracles. Sophia is the tortie in back. Sylvester is the tuxedo. Sebastian is the solid black.

Their litter was rescued from a car lot in Springfield by a lady in the area who does TNR. Sadly, there was a fourth kitten who had already passed away. She was able to capture these remaining three and placed them with a fellow rescue friend in White House, Tn. Her friend had them on a wait list for another rescue but she knew the kittens needed placement sooner rather than later.

She reached out to me over the weekend and explained their situation. Thankfully, I had an available foster ready and waiting for a group so I easily slid them right into their home. The babies saw our veterinarian today for a wellness exam. They all received a clean bill of health!

They are a little older than our usual intakes but everyone will stay with us for a minimum of 6 weeks to complete their vetting. I will not accept applications until closer to that time.

Teddy update 🧸
He is doing SOOOO much better this morning! After some much needed medical intervention by our veterinarian, lots of TLC, and a good night’s rest, Teddy is bright eyed and active today. He is eating his way through every bowl of wet food, as well as drinking water.

Thankfully, his X-ray showed a perfectly normal spine, excluding Manx Syndrome as the reason for the amount of stool that was on his backside. We think he just had so much back there that it kept building up. We can add him to the list of all the other normal bobtail babies that have come our way this year!

A huge thank you to the lady who found Teddy and knew he needed help. I have no doubt his story would have been much different had she not found him when she did. I can’t always say yes to intakes, especially large groups. But when I get requests for babies like Teddy, it is very hard for me to say no. The “Teddy’s” of this world are the sole reason I created Mighty Miracles. When people ask how I do rescue when there is so much heartbreak, I tell them there are far more stories like Teddy’s than the ones I lose. Yes, the losses are hard, but when kittens like Teddy find their way to me, the reward in seeing them survive is immeasurable.

Teddy is on an antibiotic, subq fluids for another few days, and a probiotic. He will have a follow up appointment next Monday. Thank you all for the prayers, thoughts and kind words on his behalf. I know I can always count on your love and support in times of need! 🧡

I received an email Saturday about this little baby who showed up at a home in Lebanon. The homeowner cares for several stray and feral cats, but there hadn’t been any kittens around in a while. She has no idea where he came from, but she knew he desperately needed help.

I picked him up this morning, and she was not exaggerating. This poor angel was a complete mess. He was covered in his own f***s, his ears are full of ear mites, and he is overrun with fleas. One of his eyes has some cloudiness, he’s dehydrated, and no doubt anemic. He was also born without a tail, so he’s having an X-ray to check his spine for Manx syndrome. Thankfully, I was able to get him in to see our veterinarian right away.

With so many things going on with his health, I decided to leave him with the vet for the day so they could give him the care he needs. A huge thank you to Keri Balderman for taking one for the team and giving him a bath and cleaning his ears. I usually get our babies cleaned up before taking them to the vet, but I knew getting him seen as quickly as possible was much more important.

I’ve named this precious boy Teddy. Teddy is short for Theodore, which means “gift of God,” and I truly believe he is a gift to us. Hopefully, he will overcome all these obstacles and be okay. Please keep little Teddy in your thoughts and prayers over the next few days as we find out more about his condition.

He didn’t ask for this life, but hopefully, we can give him a chance at a better one.

Happy Sunday morning from Carrie! She wants everyone to know that she is 14 days away from finishing her FIP treatment!!!!! I can’t believe how far she’s come since that first week. Carrie proved to all of us that giving up was not an option. She is living proof of what rescue is all about. And can we all take a minute to admire her beautiful coat. The fever coat is working its way out but her little sprinkles of salt are just so adorable!

I honestly don’t know how Jude is still here! Usually, our orange boys get scooped up pretty quickly, especially once they’re neutered. I don’t know if he’s just been overlooked in my posts or if there’s an orange cat protest happening! Either way, someone is missing out on a really sweet boy.

Jude is 4 months old and fully vetted. He’s playful, silly, and always ready to have fun, but his favorite thing is getting all the attention. He loves to play, but he’s just as happy curling up in your lap, making biscuits, and purring up a storm. He’s definitely a lover boy.

Jude doesn’t mind small children and loves other cats. Give him a Churu treat, and you’ll have a best friend for life! He hasn’t been around dogs yet, but with a slow introduction, I have no doubt he will be just fine with them, too.

Jude is your typical silly orange tabby, full of personality and love. However, he can be a bit shy at first. Just give him a few minutes to warm up and then he is ALL in. I know he’s going to make someone a wonderful companion, and I can’t wait to see him find his forever home. Please help me find the family this sweet boy deserves! 🧡🧡🧡

Sweetie must have been feeling extra photogenic! Her foster mom captured some amazing shots of her. It’s crazy to think that she’s 10 years old. She still looks and plays like a kitten.

There’s really nothing cuter than a kitten with an orange slice around her head. 🍊 Krissy had a rough start to the day. She didn’t eat, drink or use the litter box overnight or most of today. After communicating my concerns to Dr. Dawes, we decided I should give her a dose of Cerenia, an anti nausea med. Just as I was about to go in room she’s in, I saw her gobbling down her wet food. After she finished it off, she drank some water and then went directly to the litter box.

When I tell y’all these kittens make me crazy, I am not exaggerating!!! I was fully expecting to have to take her to the clinic as soon as the doors open tomorrow. I had already worked myself into a panic, thinking she would crash overnight. Instead, I left the Cerenia in the package and walked away shaking my head.

Krissy did great with her amputation!! Dr. Dawes said it was one of the easiest ones she’s ever performed. Because it was a birth defect and not an injured leg, the muscles and tendons were all exactly where they should be, making the procedure go much smoother and faster.

However, in typical Mighty Miracles fashion, Krissy was not very well behaved during her recovery! She didn’t like the plastic cone, she didn’t care for her accommodations, and she was none too happy that she couldn’t chew on her fresh incision. Dr. Dawes tried a softer cone, but by the time I got home with her, she had already worked herself into a tizzy over that one, too.

I had this little soft cone left from Eloise, so I’m trying that now. I’m hoping there are still some good Eloise vibes left in it and that she’ll calm her wild tail down. If not, she’s going to be on the drug train for a very long time! As you can see, there is some drainage around her incision from all the drama she caused today.

Thank you all so much for the kind words, prayers, and positive thoughts today. I can’t begin to tell you how much worry and fear I go through when one of our babies has to be put under anesthesia. I spend the entire day hoping and praying that nothing goes wrong. Knowing you are out there pulling for them, and for me, brings more comfort than you know. 🧡
