Meet Peanut, our Shelter Pet of the Week!

Peanut is a 16-year-old Chihuahua with a heart as big as his ears. This little guy has been through more than most; he lost his home of over 15 years in a house fire. Despite the upheaval, Peanut's spirit shines. He's now safe in a loving foster home with a vet staff member, but he's searching for his forever retirement home to spend his golden years.

He's currently finishing up treatment for kennel cough, but his appetite is still strong and he's walking around like a champ. Like any dignified senior gentleman, Peanut knows what's his; he can be a little protective of his food, belongings, and his people. With most of his teeth gone, he’s more bluster than bite, but he'll do best in a home that understands and respects his boundaries.This senior sweetheart deserves to live out his days with comfort, stability, and love.
