Meet Frances, our Shelter Pet of the Week!

Frances, aka Frankie, might be 10-years-old but don't let that fool you, this girl is ready to party and be the center of attention! Frankie is housebroken, does well in her crate for up to 6 hours, and hasn't met a human she doesn't love.

Frankie doesn't let her age get in the way, she has the s***k and energy to play for hours, but also likes to curl up next to her person for a long afternoon nap. This cuddle bug loves people and wants to be in the action at all times. She has a calm demeanor when meeting new and old friends, is house trained, and has an accident-free record at her foster home. Frankie is spayed, up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative. She is friendly with children and other dogs. Frances is available for adoption through Heartland Animal Shelter.

According to the FDA, Listeria monocytogenes was detected in all unopened product samples tested by state laboratories. Several samples also tested positive for Salmonella and Campylobacter jejuni. The testing was initiated following a consumer complaint involving a dog illness.

The expanded recall includes all Raaw Energy dog food products manufactured between July 17, 2025, and December 23, 2025, as well as one lot of Beef and Turkey Medley manufactured on March 31, 2026.

The FDA also reported receiving additional consumer complaints involving illnesses in animals that had consumed the recalled products.
