Missing just one dose of your pet’s flea, tick, or heartworm prevention can leave them unprotected longer than many pet owners realize.

Parasites don’t take months off — and gaps in prevention can increase your pet’s risk of:
⚠️ Flea infestations
⚠️ Tick-borne illnesses
⚠️ Heartworm disease
⚠️ Intestinal parasites

Heartworm disease, in particular, can be dangerous and expensive to treat, but it’s easily preventable with consistent monthly prevention.

Helpful reminders:
📅 Set recurring phone alerts
📅 Pair prevention with a monthly routine
📅 Refill medications before they run out

Consistency is key when it comes to protecting your pet year-round! Need a refill? Give us a call.

There’s a lot of misinformation online about removing ticks safely. Some common “home remedies” can actually increase the risk of disease transmission.

🚫 Myth: Burn the tick with a match
🚫 Myth: Cover the tick in petroleum jelly
🚫 Myth: Twist the tick out with your fingers

✔️ Instead, use fine-tipped tweezers or a tick removal tool to grasp the tick close to the skin and pull steadily upward.

After removal:
✔️ Clean the area
✔️ Wash your hands
✔️ Monitor for redness, swelling, or illness symptoms

If you’re unsure how to remove a tick safely, contact your veterinary team for guidance.

Your backyard may feel like a safe haven, but it can hide several potential dangers for your pet.

As pets spend more time outdoors in spring and summer, it’s important to be aware of common hazards that could impact their health.

Watch out for:
✔ Fertilizers and lawn chemicals
✔ Toxic plants like azaleas, lilies, and sago palms
✔ Standing water that can harbor bacteria or parasites
✔ Foxtails and grass awns that can embed in skin
✔ Open gates or fencing gaps

Even small exposures can lead to serious health issues if not addressed quickly.

📍 If your pet shows signs of illness or injury, contact us right away.

A dull coat is often one of the first visible signs that something deeper is going on ✨
Skin health, nutrition, grooming habits, and even underlying medical conditions can all affect coat quality. Changes usually happen gradually, which is why they’re easy to miss.
🩺 Noticing coat changes early helps us address the cause before bigger problems show up.
