For some dogs, especially nervous ones,
seeing their owner nearby makes a big difference.
It helps them feel safe in a situation they donā€™t understand yet.

At the same time, every dog is different.
Sometimes your presence helps.
Sometimes it distracts them and makes the process harder.

Thatā€™s why we adjust based on the dog, not a fixed rule.

If your dog needs you - stay.
If they do better without you - weā€™ll guide you.

The goal is always the same:

Most ā€œaggressiveā€ dogs arenā€™t aggressive.

Theyā€™ve just learned that it works.

If biting, pulling away, or panicking once stopped the process ā€“
theyā€™ll try it again.

What looks like aggression
is often fear + experience.

And many times, itā€™s reinforced without anyone realizing it.

The dog learns:
šŸ‘‰ ā€œIf I react like this ā€“ it stops.ā€

So they keep using it.

But hereā€™s the part people donā€™t talk about:

Panic can be trained.
But so can calm.

Weā€™ve seen dogs come in trying to bite everything -
and months later stand calmly through the same process.

Not because they were forced.
But because the experience changed.

Because someone took the time
to do it differently.

This doesnā€™t happen in one visit.
And it doesnā€™t happen by pushing through it.

It happens step by step.
With consistency.
With patience.

Because the goal is not to ā€œwinā€ against the dog.

The goal is to change the experience.

YES - we now groom cats šŸ±
But we do it differently.

Cats donā€™t experience grooming the same way dogs do.
Noise, smells, other animals ā€” it can be overwhelming.

And for cats, stress is not a small thing.

Thatā€™s why we created a separate room just for them.

No dogs.
Less noise.
More privacy.
One-on-one care.
And gentle drying using a Jir Pet system ā€” no loud force dryers.

Because for cats, the environment is the experience.

We know many owners avoid grooming ā€”
not because they donā€™t care,
but because they donā€™t want to put their cat through it.

Some dogs get turned away - too nervous, too reactive, too ā€œdifficult.ā€

We donā€™t see it that way.

We slow down, adjust the process, and work through it step by step. Not every dog is easy, but that doesnā€™t mean they donā€™t deserve care.

If a dog can be helped - weā€™re not walking away.

Because most of the time, theyā€™re not ā€œdifficultā€ - theyā€™re just scared.

This is Hugo šŸ¤

We first met him on July 31, 2025.
And in just six months ā€“ this is where we are today.

When Hugo first came in,
he was heavily matted ā€“ and very scared.

As a puppy, he had been attacked at a dog park,
and that experience stayed with him.

Nail trims? Almost impossible.
He would panic and pull his paws away.

We didnā€™t rush him.
We didnā€™t force anything.

Instead, we chose to go at his pace ā€“
even if it meant the results werenā€™t perfect at first.

Thankfully, his owners trusted the process
and gave us another chance.

Step by step, we took our time.
We worked with him, not against him.
We built trust.

And today?

He still doesnā€™t love grooming šŸ™‚
But heā€™s more confident, more secure -
and that allows us to take better care of him
and make him look his best.

He looks wonderful now.
But what matters even more is how he feels.

As dogs get older, even familiar things can become harder.

Grooming is no exception.

They get tired faster.
Theyā€™re more sensitive to touch, noise,
even just standing for too long.

Thatā€™s why senior dogs need a different approach.

We donā€™t rush them.
We take breaks when they need it.
We support their body, their balance ā€“ and pay close attention
to how theyā€™re feeling throughout the process.

Because at this stage, itā€™s not about how the haircut looks.

Itā€™s about keeping them comfortable.

Today we want to share one of those moments ā€“
