We’re heartbroken to have to share that Charge was taken far too soon after a brief, intense battle with Lyme Nephritis.

Charge was a force- a gritty, intense, passionate dog who threw herself fully into everything she did. A talented detection dog, she was always one to make people stop and stare. Avery and Charge were kindred spirits- hard working, tough, and a little bit angry. They melded into the same being, and our hearts break for Avery today.

Charge leaves an undeniable legacy for Katalyst. She produced a myriad of puppies working in federal, state, and municipal agencies, SAR K9s, and some very successful sport dogs. So many of her kids carry her stamp, and will continue her contributions to the working Labrador.

Today, we miss this powerhouse of a dog. A room will never quite be the same without her manipulating every person into playing her games, and inserting herself anyplace she pleased.

Love you, Chargeys. I’d say rest easy, but let’s be honest- give ‘em hell.

Fefe said “make it a 10 piece, please” 🍟

And in true understanding of the assignment, Fe gave us 8 girls and 2 boys in a speedy 5 hour daytime whelp. Everyone is doing great, Fe is being an awesome momma, and our hearts are very full.

K9 Sid (formerly Typhoon from our Dice x Dodge Natural Disasters litter) now works as a Human Remains Detection K9 with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in NYC!

We trained OCME’s first HR dog, a talented German Shepherd named Raven, when they started their K9 program. Raven had a phenomenal career, and is now passing the torch to Sid. Go do big things, handsome boy!

Our first litter of 2026 is just around the corner... and we’re starving to meet them! These little nuggets are going to be the “Fast Foods”, and will be joining the DBI project to stay with us throughout their green dog development.
