Last week we saw a sweet pup who came in with burned paw pads after a hike on a hot day. Thankfully, their family noticed right away and brought them in for care, which made all the difference. We treated the burned pads with a gentle cleaning, bandages to protect the paws while they heal, and pain management to keep him comfortable.

We know no pet parent ever intends for this to happen, but it’s an easy accident during the warmer months when the ground heats up quickly. A good rule of thumb is to check the pavement with the back of your hand; if it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for paws. 🐾☀️

Stay safe out there and try to take your walks during the cooler hours of the day!

It’s been a minute since we’ve shared a staff spotlight, so meet David! 👋
David is one of our CSRs but also helps out in the back when needed—bringing 5 years of combined front and back office experience. He recently completed his phlebotomy course and is continuing his studies toward a nursing degree.

If you’ve had the chance to meet David, you know he’s kind, outgoing, and thoughtful. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his loved ones (including his two dogs, Blitz and Sage), hitting the gym, catching movies, and relaxing at the beach.
