The first check went to Grey Ghost Weimaraner Rescue. This breed isn’t for everybody and they are very diligent in matching their dogs with adopters who really understand and appreciate the breed.

Still waiting… 💙 Sweet Nickel is still searching for her forever family, and honestly, we’re a little surprised she hasn’t found them yet.

This beautiful blue girl recently celebrated her 5th birthday and all she wants is a home of her own. A place where she can settle in, relax, and spend her days with people who love her as much as her foster family does.

Nickel is smart, affectionate, well-behaved, and loves being part of her humans’ daily lives. She’s trusted to free roam the house, does great in her crate, knows her basic commands, and would thrive in a home where someone is around often to enjoy all the companionship she has to offer.

Like many rescue dogs, Nickel may need a little time and patience while adjusting to a new environment. But those who know her will tell you she’s absolutely worth it.

Her foster family would adopt her in a heartbeat if life circumstances allowed, which says everything you need to know about what a special girl she is.

💙 Meet Nickel 💙

This beautiful blue girl just turned five years old and is ready to find the forever home she deserves. 🐾

Nickel’s foster parents absolutely adore her and would adopt her in a heartbeat… but upcoming world travel plans after retirement mean they can’t give her the long-term stability she needs. So now, we’re hoping to find the perfect family for this sweet girl.

Nickel is:
🤍 Smart, affectionate, and very well behaved
🤍 Crate trained and trusted to free roam the home
🤍 Comfortable using a dog door
🤍 Great on leash (though she gets excited and strong sometimes!)
🤍 Trainable and knows her basic commands
🤍 Nickel has a strong prey drive, so no cats please

She would do best as the only dog in the home and is looking for patient adopters willing to give her time to adjust to a new environment. A home where someone is around often or works from home would be a huge bonus for this Velcro girl. 💫

She’s the kind of dog who quietly works her way into your heart,and once she’s there, she’s impossible not to love. 💙

💙 A story of comfort, love, and belonging…

In this month’s Grey Ghost Weimaraner Rescue newsletter, we had the honor of highlighting Wrapped in Love Colorado, the amazing group behind the handmade blankets each of our adopted dogs receives. 🐾

What started as one adoption story grew into something truly special. Today, Wrapped in Love Colorado creates nearly 2,000 blankets each year for rescues across the state, each one stitched with a small heart, symbolizing the love every rescue pet deserves.

For our Grey Ghost dogs, these blankets often become their first sense of “home.” They bring comfort during big transitions and remain a constant through every new beginning. Many of our adopters tell us their dogs still sleep on them years later. 💫

We are so grateful for the care, time, and love that goes into every blanket, and for the difference it makes in the lives of our dogs.
