The wait was worth it… Nickel is HOME! 🏡

After patiently waiting for the right person to come along, our beautiful five-year-old blue girl has officially been adopted, and we couldn’t have dreamed up a better match for her. 🐾

Nickel’s new dad is an experienced Weim owner who recently lost his last Weim. When he came across Nickel’s post, something just clicked. He knew she was meant to be his, and it turns out he was absolutely right. From the beginning, Nickel settled in beautifully and seems to know she is finally, truly home.

As the only dog, Nickel gets exactly what she was looking for: her person all to herself! She spends her days cuddled up beside him while he works from home, exploring her big backyard, and eagerly awaiting Chewy boxes filled with new stuffies. She’s even attended her first company BBQ and was a total rockstar. ⭐️

One of her favorite parts of her new life? Daily walks around the reservoir, where she is completely mesmerized by the fish jumping at sunrise. 🌅

We also owe a HUGE thank you to Nickel’s wonderful foster family. They gave her the time, patience, love, and security she needed while she waited for her forever person and showed her just how good life inside a loving home could be.

From waiting for someone to choose her to being the absolute center of someone’s world… this is exactly the happy ending we wanted for Nickel.

Happy tails, sweet girl. It’s only wonderful days ahead! 💙🐾

Still waiting…five year old beautiful, blue girl Nickel is still looking for her forever home! 🏡 Nickel needs to be the ONLY DOG.❣️She is smart, affectionate, loyal and happiest when she’s with her people.

She does well in a crate and is also trusted to free roam. She enjoys riding in a car and is able to use a dog door. Nickel knows basic commands and has wonderful manners in her foster home. 💕

She loves her daily walks and needs an owner who is strong since she can pull when excited on leash. Nickel also has a prey drive, and is very curious about all outside critters. No cats, please! 🦮 She will need a house with a fenced in yard where she can relax and safely enjoy the outdoors.

A home where someone is around often or works from home would be a huge bonus for this Velcro girl. Like many rescue dogs, Nickel struggles with change and can feel overwhelmed easily. Nickel will require a patient adopter who understands that she will need extra time while adjusting to a new environment. Those who know her will tell you she's absolutely worth it! 🥰

Still waiting… 💙 Sweet Nickel is still searching for her forever family, and honestly, we’re a little surprised she hasn’t found them yet.

This beautiful blue girl recently celebrated her 5th birthday and all she wants is a home of her own. A place where she can settle in, relax, and spend her days with people who love her as much as her foster family does.

Nickel is smart, affectionate, well-behaved, and loves being part of her humans’ daily lives. She’s trusted to free roam the house, does great in her crate, knows her basic commands, and would thrive in a home where someone is around often to enjoy all the companionship she has to offer.

Like many rescue dogs, Nickel may need a little time and patience while adjusting to a new environment. But those who know her will tell you she’s absolutely worth it.

Her foster family would adopt her in a heartbeat if life circumstances allowed, which says everything you need to know about what a special girl she is.

💙 Meet Nickel 💙

This beautiful blue girl just turned five years old and is ready to find the forever home she deserves. 🐾

Nickel’s foster parents absolutely adore her and would adopt her in a heartbeat… but upcoming world travel plans after retirement mean they can’t give her the long-term stability she needs. So now, we’re hoping to find the perfect family for this sweet girl.

Nickel is:
🤍 Smart, affectionate, and very well behaved
🤍 Crate trained and trusted to free roam the home
🤍 Comfortable using a dog door
🤍 Great on leash (though she gets excited and strong sometimes!)
🤍 Trainable and knows her basic commands
🤍 Nickel has a strong prey drive, so no cats please

She would do best as the only dog in the home and is looking for patient adopters willing to give her time to adjust to a new environment. A home where someone is around often or works from home would be a huge bonus for this Velcro girl. 💫
