There is something so special about handmade gifts. Every donation means the world to us, but seeing someone pour their time, care, and love into something for the cats in our care is truly heartwarming.

A huge thank you to Mrs. Nancy for creating these beautiful quilts for our kitties. We know they’ll be well-loved by the cats who get to curl up on them.

The kindness and generosity of our community never ceases to amaze us. ❤️🐾

Is this not the sweetest thing?! We are so lucky to be a part of the animal welfare community alongside organizations such as HSAC❤️

Animal welfare is a community effort! Whether they’re helping dogs find loving homes or we’re helping cats get a second chance, we’re all working toward the same goal: saving lives and strengthening our community. Our community has so many absolute powerhouses that give their all to the animals that need us and we are so grateful we get to be a part of it!

Thank you, HSAC, for being such wonderful friends to the cats (and humans) of River Cities. 🐾

We have a very serious confession to make today, Monroe...

Yes, we are loudly and proudly Team Dog here at HSAC. We live for the sloppy kisses, the muddy paws, and the endless games of fetch. But the truth is? We actually really love cats, too. (Just don't tell the dogs we said that!) 🤫

That is exactly why, for this Thankful Thursday, we are sending a massive shoutout to the absolute rockstars over at River Cities Humane Society for Cats!

While we are out here trying to wrangle 60-pound couch potatoes and negotiating with stubborn hounds, the incredible folks at River Cities are tirelessly working around the clock to care for the feline side of our community. It takes a special kind of dedication (and a high tolerance for spicy kitten swats) to serve our feline overlords, and we are so incredibly grateful for the amazing work they do every single day.

Monroe is incredibly lucky to have a rescue so dedicated to giving these kitties the love, care, and second chances they deserve.

🐾 Cat Spotlight: Riven 🐾

Meet Riven! He is a special boy with a suspected rare renal tubular disorder, which means he drinks and urinates more than the average cat and will likely need lifelong monitoring and supportive care. The good news is that his kidneys appeared structurally normal on his last ultrasound, and he is not currently considered to be in kidney failure.

This 1-year-old sweetie pie is in need of a family willing to see beyond his diagnosis and appreciate the sweet, affectionate companion he truly is. He absolutely LOVES attention and is often the first cat to greet visitors when entering the boys' room.

His future may include regular veterinary monitoring, so it is essential we find him an adopter who is prepared to care for him in the way he deserves.

We're closing early this Friday (June 19th)!

In order to allow our staff time to get ready and set up for our special River Cities Commander Kitties MTG event at Hobby Hits Cards & Collectibles, featuring a meet and greet with special guest Ashly Lovett, we will be closing the shelter at 3PM on Friday, June 19th.

Our shelter director, Dee, took Aleister to the park! Needless to say, he had the best time! We’re so proud of how far our wobbly wonder has come ❤️
