Meet North Monroe Animal Hospital's very own candidates for the 1st ever Pet Mayor of West Monroe! Next is Jonah!
Clumsy. Confused. Completely Committed.
Meet Jonah — a quiet, laid-back 1-year-old longhaired Chihuahua with legs for days and a heart even bigger.
Gentle, sweet, and deeply unsure of what’s happening, Jonah is a new kind of leader. He doesn’t talk much. He doesn’t know what a zoning ordinance is. But he does know how to give really good kisses. And he’ll give one to anyone — constituent, opponent, mail carrier, or squirrel.
Nicknamed Jonah Longlegs for obvious reasons (have you seen those stilts?) and Jonah Bologna for reasons no one quite remembers, this lanky goofball is known for sleeping like a pretzel, politely staring into the void, and occasionally enjoying a worm or two. He recently discovered the joy of swimming, which he approaches with the grace of a deer on roller skates. He’s the proud owner of exactly one brain cell, and that thing is fighting for its life daily. But we love him endlessly and unconditionally.
Though his understanding of local government is… limited at best, his commitment to being a good boy is unwavering. He’s calm. He’s kind. He’s ready — even if he’s not quite sure what for.
Vote Jonah. He’s doing his best. And occasionally licking the sidewalk.
Voting for Pet Mayor runs through Friday, June 13th. Votes are $1 each, and you can cast as many votes as you'd like! All proceeds benefit The Kiroli Foundation. To vote, go to https://wmpetmayor.com/ or scan the QR codes on their yellow campaign photos and find their profile on the website. Choose your favorite or maybe a vote (or 2 😉) for each! Thank you! And if any of these guys win, we promise they won’t raise your taxes. They don’t even know what taxes are. 😁 West Monroe Parks & Recreation City of West Monroe
