Last week, we had the exciting opportunity to perform our very first CT scan on a patient — sweet Silas! 🐾❤️

Advanced imaging such as CT or MRI has historically required veterinary patients in our area to travel 2–3+ hours away to see a specialist. For Silas and his family, traveling that far simply wasn’t an option.

We saw a unique opportunity and partnered with Northeast Imaging Center to offer a local option, allowing Silas to receive advanced diagnostics close to home. Their convenient location just across the street from our clinic and their willingness to work through some kinks unique to veterinary medicine made this easy and rewarding! We were able to get answers for his family, and we are incredibly excited about the opportunity to help even more patients in our community with access to advanced imaging right here at home.

If you have visited our clinic, you have likely met our very first resident kitty, Alice! We knew we wanted a clinic cat from the very beginning, but we also felt strongly that the right one would come to us. One year ago today, not long after we opened, someone brought in a feisty little orange fluff ball that had fallen out of a vehicle driving in front of them on the high way. She had a bad upper respiratory infection and her eyes were matted closed. When she was handed to Dr. Stokes, she began hissing, spitting, and fighting to run away, but being purritoed in a blanket and offered a churu turned that attitude around within minutes, and we have loved her ever since 🥰🐈🐾

She’s social, friendly (sometimes a little spunky 😜), and loves to meet people and make friends! She loves our patients, and one of our favorite things about her is she knows when they need comfort, and she will spend her entire day laying with them ❤️

We are closed today, but Premier Pet Emergency Clinic is open until Monday morning for all emergencies. We will resume normal business hours on Monday!

✨ Meet Emily!

Emily is our lead veterinary assistant, and she keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes. She has worked alongside Dr. Stokes for three years now and has been here at The Parish Pet Clinic since the very beginning. Her favorite part of her job is her team mates. You can frequently find Emily snuggling all of the patients that are staying with us for the day in any down time she finds- she prides herself in ensuring that each of our patients are treated like she would treat her own. 🥰🐶🐈🤗

Emily enjoys reading and spends most of her free time with her sweet pup Cassie. A fun fact about her is that she buys Cassie a new toy every Friday as a tradition. Emily is a big part of who we are as a team, and we are so thankful for her leadership! 📚🐾🦴

✨Meet Alecksis!

Alecksis is one of our part-time veterinary assistants! She is in college as a pre-vet major with hopes of attending veterinary school in the near future. She loves working with all of our patients and learning new things about veterinary medicine every day! 🔮🩺👩‍⚕️

In her free time, Alecksis loves to hunt and fish. A couple of fun facts about Alecksis is that she has a Ball Python names William Snakespeare, and she plays the trumpet in the Louisiana Tech Marching Band! 🦌🎣🎺

✨Meet Brittany- one of our amazing veterinary assistants!

She is dedicated to her job, loves our clients and patients, and is always ready for whatever the day has to offer! Brittany has been with us since we opened, and she is an integral part of our care team. From running wellness appointments to monitoring anesthesia to educating clients, Brittany does it all! 🐶🩺🐈

A fun fact about Brittany is that she has traveled around the world growing up with both of her parents in the military. Her favorite part of her job is creating better experience for fearful and anxious patients using low stress handling techniques! ✈️🌎☺️
