✨ Meet Allison! ✨

We're so excited to welcome her to the Hometown Vet family!

Originally from Farmerville, Allison graduated from D'Arbonne Woods Charter School and is currently studying Marketing at ULM. She also works as a veterinary assistant at Premier Pet Emergency, where Dr. Bethea had the pleasure to meet and work alongside her!

The best way to describe Allison? Sunshine-y ☀️ She's bright, bubbly, energetic, and an absolute joy to work with. Her positivity is contagious, and her genuine love for animals shines through in everything she does.

Outside the clinic, you'll find her playing the ukulele, singing, spending time with family and friends, going to concerts, or adventuring with her rescue dogs, Milky Way and Pluto (plus Pepper, the family dog that holds a special place in her heart💜). She has a soft spot for tripod pets and fun hats that are always in rotation. 🤠

We're so lucky to have Allison on our team, and we can't wait for you to meet her. Help us give her a warm Hometown Vet welcome! 🩵🐾

Hometown Vet Animal Hospital is coming together! 🩵✨

We've been so busy that I haven't posted an update in a bit, but just know that we are working around the clock to bring all of the details to life!

Cabinets are going in, lights are up, and Hometown Vet Animal Hospital is coming together one step at a time.

If all goes according to plan, we're hoping to open August 31st! 🤞🐾 We all know construction timelines aren't perfect, so bear with us as we enter this final stretch of finishing touches. 😁

Anterior synechiae are a common complication in cats with Feline herpesvirus (FHV-1), especially when uveitis is involved. Chronic inflammation in the eye causes the iris to stick to the cornea or lens, forming these adhesions. Over time, this can distort the pupil, impair normal fluid drainage, and increase the risk of secondary glaucoma. In affected cats, you might notice irregular pupil shape, persistent redness, or signs of eye pain like squinting and tearing. Early and consistent treatment of herpesvirus flare-ups and uveitis is key to preventing permanent structural damage like anterior synechiae.
