We're excited to work in support of gardens like Nia 'Purpose' who serve their neighbors everyday through community gardening! We were ecstatic to plant our first trees of the year in the garden alongside Mommy Beautiful Sunrise Inc and team!

The Heart of Metcalfe Park Beats Here.

This aerial view of the Metcalfe Park Black Joy Farm says it all—our farm is the heart of our community. It’s where we gather, grow, connect, and build what we need to nurture and sustain one another.

Join us, Tuesday April 22 or Wednesday, April 23 as we keep building this space with love. We’ll be adding a greenhouse, garden beds, fruit trees, and more—plus cleaning and beautifying the neighborhood we call home.

Let’s keep our heart beating strong. RSVP to volunteer:

Love that our partners are out here doing big things in Sherman Park to make it a more sustainable and resilient community! Shout out to Sherman Park Community Association, Milwaukee Environmental Collaboration Office - ECO, Daybreak Fund, Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, and all the other participating houses of worship in Sherman Park!

Cant wait to be out there with you all again this Spring!

The project shows churches, businesses and multifamily apartment owners how they can reduce their carbon impact.

So excited to see our partners out here making BIG things happen in their community! Many blessings Metcalfe Park Community Bridges!

🚧 Exciting news for Milwaukee and Metcalfe Park! 🚧 The U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded us a transformative $25 million grant to revamp a two-mile stretch of Center Street, from Sherman Boulevard to Teutonia Avenue. This historic investment is set to enhance safety in a high injury zone, including one of our most dangerous intersections.

For decades, our city’s corridors and high-traffic roads in the inner city have seen little to no investment since the 1940s-1960s. This project is our first step in reversing that neglect. Our Executive Director has worked hand-in-hand with the Department of Public Works and our Alderman Russell Stamper to ensure this grant will not only upgrade infrastructure but also integrate community design and input.

As we rejuvenate Center Street—once a bustling hub of businesses and resources—we’re committed to building a Milwaukee that prioritizes green infrastructure, walkable, bike-able, and drivable roads, and beautified streets. This initiative reflects our dedication to community-led development rooted in social justice, ensuring that all residents are at the table and they benefit from these improvements.

Stay tuned for community input sessions in the coming year for updates as we work together to build safer, more vibrant roads for everyone.
