My favorite skull to do! My biggest challenge to date to test my process and patiences. Only second time I got the opportunity to complete this skull.
This Montana black wolf skull gets to stay in its permanent location at my shop. Not only for myself to admire but clients for years to come .

I started this skull December 21st of 2023 , and just finished it couple nights ago . Yes that is over a year and a half to get it cleaned , degreased and whitened .

The cleaning process is maceration, it was very well freezer burnt and took 3 weeks to become flesh free. When it was it was solid black and dark as the skull comes.

Temperature was very low from room temperature to no higher than 95 degrees.

Many dry cycles to evaluate the skull for grease. Many times frustrated and back into degreasing.

When it finally appeared to look great and I whitened the wolf .

Small places of grease still held on . Cold water soak for a few days only to degrease for another 5 months!

This time when I dried it all spots of grease were gone .

Ran the wolf skull through my whitening process and this is the final product!

Best part of this is, i am working on another clients wolf skull from Montana and no further than 50 miles from my front door!!

Ill get to have two finished wolf skulls together and I can't wait!!!
