Happy Breeders' Cup Saturday from Amsterdam Two Farm!

Fun fact: Both of the stallions on our 2027 roster are Breeders' Cup veterans. Skippylongstocking (pictured, left) ran a good 3rd in the 2023 Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile (G1) at Santa Anita behind Cody's Wish and National Treasure, earning a 101 Beyer speed figure and defeating such standouts as Charge It, Zozos and Stage Raider.

Arzak (pictured, right), meanwhile, was beaten only 2 lengths by winner Nobals and 1 1/2 lengths by winner Starlust in back-to-back runnings of the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint (G1) in 2023 and 2024 at Santa Anita and Del Mar, respectively, where he earned Beyer speed figures of 96 and 97.

Skippylongstocking, of course, is a 12-time graded stakes winner, track record setter, and earner of more than $6 million who was early enough to win a maiden special weight at 2 by 10 1/2 lengths, and earned his signature win in the Pegasus World Cup Invitational (G1) at 7. He has a dozen graded stakes, 10 triple-digit Beyers, and 28 additional 90+ Beyers on his résumé.

Arzak, a track record setter and millionaire, was a $575,000 OBS April 2-year-old who broke his maiden in his second start at 2, then won stakes at 3, 4, 5 and 6, including graded wins on synthetic and turf.

Good luck to all the contenders today, with a special hat tip to Rhetorical — who, like Arzak, is a son of Not This Time. Rhetrorical, bred by Mallory Mort and Karen Mort, also happens to be the lone NY-bred on the card!

There's something mystical, magical happening in the female family of Skippylongstocking — new to Amsterdam Two for 2027.

Skippy's dam Twinkling, by War Front, has produced four graded black-type runners from her first five foals to race. And Tuesday, at Fasig-Tipton's Kentucky October Yearling Sale, a first-crop Cody's Wish yearling out of Skippylongstocking's unraced half-sister Always Twinkling, sold for $300,000 to legendary bloodstock agent Donato Lanni, agent for Hal and Patti Earnhardt.

Indeed, Skippy's $6 million+ earnings, dozen graded stakes, and 10 triple-digit Beyer speed figures aren't an anomaly. They're part of an incredible genetic legacy that's just getting started.

Thank you to all the breeders in New York, the Midlantic region, Canada and beyond who supported Arzak🚀 and made him the #1 stallion in New York — and #2 North American stallion outside of Kentucky — by number of mares bred in 2026.

We are humbled and delighted to see our Grade 2-winning, millionaire son of Not This Time rocket to the front of an incredibly deep field of New York stallions. But that's Arzak for you, a classic overachiever.

That said, our boy didn't do it alone. So again, our gratitude goes out to each and every one of you who came to our open houses, checked out our Blood-Horse Stallion Register page, ran a TrueNick, booked a mare, bought a share, or just followed our page and gave us the occasional "like."

Amsterdam Two is proud and excited to announce that Grade 1 winner and track-record setter Skippylongstocking — who has earned over $6 million, won a dozen graded stakes, and recorded 10 triple-digit Beyer speed figures to date — will retire to Amsterdam Two Farm in Middleburgh, NY for 2027, at the conclusion of his racing career.

Skippylongstocking, a 12-time graded stakes winner by Exaggerator, has an initial fee of $3,500, which could change following his performance in the Oct. 31 Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) at Keeneland, according to Amsterdam Two Farm.

From the racetrack to the breeding shed — the people who were with Arzak🚀 from the start are still involved today.

Pictured here with Arzak are Michael Trombetta Jr. (left) and Chris Aro (right) — both of whom were directly involved with his daily care in the shedrow of Michael Trombetta, who trained Arzak throughout the duration of his racing career. Trombetta supported Arzak in his first season at stud with a stakes-winning daughter of Harlan’s Holiday, and recruited several others to Arzak’s 100+ book of high-quality mares.

When you bring a stallion to stud, there’s tremendous value in having people involved who truly know the horse — his ability, his toughness, his personality, and everything that went into his success on the racetrack. We’re thankful for everyone who played a role in Arzak’s racing career and especially grateful to those who continue to believe in him and his future.

The racing chapter may be over, but Team Arzak is still very much together. 🚀

What’s Arzak been up to lately?

Well... enjoying life.

He’s been nibbling on grass, catching up with his wingman Peruvian Boy, taking in the mountainside views of the valley, and enjoying his favorite pastime—running a lap or two around the field just for fun.

While Arzak enjoys a well-deserved break after a very successful first season at stud, things are anything but quiet in the Amsterdam Two office. In fact, we’ve booked two additional mares to Arzak this week for both the 2027 and 2028 breeding seasons.
