Happy Indigenous People’s Day! 🪶 On behalf of the Green Haven Project, we would like to highlight a special award ceremony that recently took place to recognize our fellow Brother, President of the board, and Co-Founder of the organization, Jorge Palacios! He was presented with this award by the Miccosukee Arts and Science Symposium for his dedication and stewardship of this land. 🌅 Thank you Love The Everglades Movement and Jean Sarmiento for arranging this event and shining a spotlight for him and others that protect our home we call earth. Now for those of us that have had the pleasure of knowing Jorge for several years, we know he’s a very humble individual that does not like to receive a lot of praise, so it is with great joy for us to see him get his well deserved flowers for his life’s long work! Thank you Jorge for your commitment to planting seeds for our future, we celebrate your heart, and we love you bro! 💚 Sincerely the Green Haven Family -Legacy, TK, Madison, Celina, Bottles, and Mark the Englishman!

Its that time of the year again and the growing season is officially upon us

3 weeks from now, on Saturday October 17th, we’ll gather in the heart of Overtown for our 4th Annual World Food Day Celebration
THE volunteer day where community members come together to learn how to create our growing crops from scratch and help plant thousands of seedlings that will feed families throughout the growing season.

This year, we’ll also debut our new plant nursery and education space, created to support hands-on learning and deeper community engagement W/ S.N.O. Family Foundation

This Saturday morning!

Join us for the final part of our nursery/education build out with S.N.O. Family Foundation Mati Shaw
We will be moving gravel, stepping stones and filling out planters designed by Demar Matthews
