🍁 Welcome to Rescue, Maple! 🍁

At just one year old, Maple is the perfect mix of sweet, spicy, and absolutely adorable.

This little lady joined us after her siblings had already found their way into rescue. She may have been the last of her litter to arrive, but she’s making herself right at home.

Maple is kennel trained, potty trained, and loves other dogs. In fact, having canine friends around helps her shine. She’s a bit of a nervous girl when meeting new people and experiencing new things, but once she feels safe and trusts you, her affectionate side comes pouring out. She loves snuggling up with her favorite humans and soaking up all the love she can get.

Because she gains so much confidence from her furry companions, we’d love to see Maple find a home with another friendly dog who can help show her the ropes and remind her that the world isn’t such a scary place.

Sweet Maple, you’ve already come so far. You are loved, safe, healing, and ready for the next chapter of your journey.

It's Patty, aka Patty Cakes! This 2 year old wrinkly smooshface is looking for her forever home. True to the breed, she loves her people!! Yet, she also appreciates butt rubs by others while being out and about. She loves snuggling on the couch, playing and running in the yard and is a huge fan of belly rubs! She is good with kids but a bit of a wrecking ball for younger kiddos. Her one vice is that she is not a fan of other female alpha dogs (also true to the breed). She LOVES her male doggy BFFs and even does well with other submissive females but due to dogs and packs always changing, she is best as the only queen dog in the home. 🚨 AZ FOSTERS NEEDED IMMEDIATELY 🚨

We don’t often make posts like this, but today we’re asking our community to step up in a big way.

A large-scale local situation involving numerous large breed dogs is currently unfolding. Multiple rescues are working together behind the scenes to help, and Big Hearts for Big Breeds is preparing to take in as many dogs as we responsibly can.

What we’ve been told is heartbreaking: if these dogs are not removed within specific timeframes, they may face euthanasia or other fatal outcomes. Time is not on their side.

The only thing standing between these dogs and safety right now is foster homes.

Many of these dogs have known nothing but the environment they’re currently living in. They need a safe place to decompress, feel secure, and begin their next chapter.

If you’ve considered fostering before but have been waiting for the right time, this is the moment. Our rescue provides food, supplies, veterinary care, and support. You provide the temporary safe haven.

Every foster home allows us to save another life.
Every “yes” creates another opportunity for a dog that desperately needs one.

✨ Welcome to Rescue, Orion ✨

At just two years old, Orion is a big, handsome boy with an even bigger heart. Unfortunately, life hasn’t always given him the opportunities he deserved. A caring neighbor noticed that Orion was spending his days alone in a backyard without reliable access to the basics every dog should have, and she knew he deserved better.

Now, Orion is safe, loved, and officially part of the Big Hearts family.

Like many dogs who haven’t been given much guidance, Orion is still learning what life as a cherished family member looks like. He’s enthusiastic, full of personality, and sometimes forgets just how big he is. But beneath all that excitement is a sweet boy who simply needs patience, structure, and someone willing to show him the way.

Over the coming weeks, Orion will be getting neutered, learning his manners, and discovering all the wonderful things that come with being an indoor dog. Every day is a new adventure, and he’s soaking it all in with his signature enthusiasm.

🐾 A Leg Up for Creek 🐾

Everyone, meet Creek.

A few weeks ago, a kind couple learned about a dog who wasn’t being cared for the way he deserved. When they met him, he was thin, neglected, and struggling. They stepped in, gave him a safe place to land, and started helping him gain weight and confidence.

Then, just three weeks later, everything changed.

They came home to find Creek in pain, unable to put weight on one of his legs. It was swollen, painful, and clearly injured. They don’t know exactly what happened, but they knew he needed more help than they could provide on their own.

That’s where rescue stepped in.

Creek is now safe with Big Hearts for Big Breeds. His bloodwork looks good, and we’re working closely with our veterinary team to determine the best path forward for his broken leg. We’re exploring every option possible to help him heal and keep him comfortable as he begins this next chapter.

Now we’re inviting you to be part of that chapter.

Every rescue story takes a community. Every medical case takes a team. Creek’s journey is just beginning, and we would love for you to walk beside him as he takes each step toward recovery.
