Sixteen years young and still full of love! Meet Milo, a sweet senior Shih Tzu who is finally getting the life he always deserved. ❤️

Milo and his brother Roscoe were rescued from a heartbreaking hoarding situation. Despite the hardships of his past, Milo's gentle spirit, loving heart, and ability to trust never faded.

Today, Milo is safe and cherished in our Forever Foster / Guardian Angel Program. He enjoys soft beds, warm snuggles, and, most importantly, knowing he is loved. 🥹

Our Guardian Angel dogs need ongoing care and support to ensure they can enjoy their golden years without worry. That's where YOU come in!

Buddy is now available to be adopted! He has completely cleared his infections and hair has grown back! We are seeing the spunky, fun loving frenchie side of him ❤️

💔🐾 MEET BUDDY 🐾💔

Buddy is a 6-year-old French Bulldog who has been through more than any dog should.

He came to us suffering from long-term ear and skin infections, significant hair loss, and painful, irritated skin. He recently underwent a procedure to drain a large hematoma from his ear and also suffers from severe dry eyes.

He is completely clear of all infections and hair has grown back! He will need ongoing maintenance of his skin and allergy meds along with a strict diet. He is currently eating Zignature Kangaroo which has not caused any further allergy reactions. He will also need eye drops for his eyes.

After everything he's been through, Buddy is still SO incredibly sweet. 🥹❤️

He loves people and absolutely lives for attention and pets. He'll even get vocal when he thinks you've stopped petting him too soon—or when dinner is running late! 😂 His foster mom describes him as sweet, submissive and easygoing.
🐶 Good with other dogs
👧 LOVES kids and is wonderful with his foster family's 10-year-old daughter
🦴 No resource guarding
🚗 Good in the car
🦮 Walks well on leash
🏡 Doing great with house training—unless it's raining, because apparently Buddy is made of sugar. 😂☔

Buddy doesn't love being alone and would do best with someone who is home much of the time or with a doggy companion. He simply wants to be near someone who loves him. ❤️

His forever family will need to be committed to continuing his care. Buddy is prone to allergies and will require a strict diet, medications, medicated baths and eye care. His foster family is currently giving him medicated baths three times a week while his skin heals but he probably won’t need those as consistently over time.

Buddy's body tells the story of what he's endured.

Now we want the rest of his life to tell a completely different story. ❤️‍🩹

A story filled with healthy skin, comfortable ears, soothing care for his eyes, soft beds, full bellies, lots of attention and a family who makes sure this sweet boy never has to suffer in silence again.

We can't undo what happened to Buddy.

But we can make sure that from this point forward, he knows nothing but love. 🥹🐾

🏡❤️ We're looking for the special family willing to heal right alongside him and give him the happily ever after he's always deserved.

🎃🐾 THANK YOU for making our GMPR Halloween Party so much fun! 🐾🎃
We had the BEST time celebrating with everyone! From the adorable costumes to all the happy faces and, of course, the cutest pugs, it was a spooktacular day! 🧡🖤🐶 We loved seeing everyone come together to celebrate our favorite little wrinkly faces!
A HUGE thank you to Stephanie, Tom, Norman, Maggie, and Bea for opening up their beautiful home and hosting such a wonderful party with delicious food! We are so grateful for your generosity and hospitality. ❤️ Thank to you Judy and Phil for the prize goody bags ❤️ Thank you to Kristen for running the contests! ❤️Thank you to everyone who attended and supported Green Mountain Pug Rescue. Ed & Mary Coffey

Since getting married and moving to Vermont 20 years ago, Ed and I have had at least one pug padding around our home at all times! The “pugs who started it all” for us, Maggie and Ling, were joined by GMPR alum, Duncan, in September 2006, after we fell in love at our first Pug Social at Top Notch Field in Stowe. In the years since Duncan arrived on the scene, we have had the pleasure of adopting GMPR pugs Gigi, Poppy, Charlie, Duke, Olive, Moose & Bear. Clearly pugs are our favorite - life just isn’t the same without them!

We have been involved with GMPR in some way, shape or form since adopting Duncan. We even had the pleasure of serving as past board members and are thrilled to be back! It is amazing to be part of such a dedicated group of folks who deeply love the breed and work tirelessly to provide the best possible life for pugs in need.

Ed is a graduate of the University of Vermont with Bachelor of Science Degrees in both Geology and Radiation Therapy. He is currently employed as an MRI Technologist at Dartmouth Hitchcock in Lebanon, NH. I am a graduate of Montclair State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Communication Sciences & Disorders & Antioch University New England with a Master of Education in Foundations of Education. I work as a Speech-Language Pathologist and Early Childhood Special Educator in Norwich, VT.

We are so pleased to be back on the Board and cannot wait to get to work!

Looking for a little pug who will follow you to the ends of the earth… or at least to the bathroom? Meet Raisin, affectionately known as Ray, a handsome 1-year-old black pug with a BIG heart and an even BIGGER need for snuggles! 🥹🖤

Ray is a certified Grade 5 Clinger who believes personal space is highly overrated! 😂 If you’re looking for a lap warmer, couch companion, and full-time cuddle buddy, Ray is ready to clock in for duty. His favorite place in the world is right next to his favorite human, soaking up every bit of love he can get.

❤️ A HEART THAT JUST WANTS TO BE LOVED
Ray has been through some big changes in his young life, and he’s still learning that the world can be a safe and wonderful place. He can be nervous around new people, particularly men, and may bark when they arrive. With patience, reassurance, and positive reinforcement, he has already made progress and continues to build his confidence.

🐶 THE PERFECT HOME FOR RAY
Ray would do best as an only dog, where he can soak up all the love and attention, or with a smaller, easygoing canine companion who respects his space. He can get protective of his favorite human, food, and special chew toys around other dogs, so his family will need to understand his boundaries and help him succeed. He has done well with a cat-savvy cat, walks nicely on a leash, and is beginning to learn his manners. He’ll need continued positive-reinforcement training, help with house-training, and a family willing to give him time to settle in and feel secure.

💋 WHY YOU’LL FALL IN LOVE
Because behind those adorable pug eyes is a little boy who wants nothing more than to belong. Ray may need some extra patience as he learns to trust, but in return, you’ll have a devoted little shadow who wants to be wherever you are.
