The Bartlett Community showed up and showed OUT for our Spring Fling, and just like we promised, we’re keeping the community fun going! Our next big event is coming right after the dog days of summer, you know, those steamy days from late July to early September.

Did you know hot pavement can burn your pet’s paws? 🥵 Use the 7-second rule: if you can’t hold your palm to the surface for 7 seconds, it’s too hot for pet paws. Stick to grass or shaded paths, or try protective booties.

The temperature is HIGH, and so are heat-related risks for our pets! ☀️ Watch for excessive panting, drooling, weakness, or confusion, as these are all classic signs of heatstroke. Brachycephalic breeds (like Bulldogs and Pugs), seniors, and overweight pets are most vulnerable. Keep walks to early mornings/evenings, always bring water, and find shade breaks. If heatstroke is suspected, move your pet to a cool spot, apply room‑temperature damp towels to armpits and neck, and call your vet immediately. Share this to help your furry friends stay cool and safe this summer!”

Heads Up, Pet Parents!

The 4th of July 🇺🇸🎆 is right around the corner, which means beautiful but scary fireworks. 🧨💥 While we humans may love the celebration, our furry friends? Not so much. If your fur baby gets anxious during fireworks, now’s the time to plan ahead! Don’t wait until July 3rd to request a Trazodone refill, we want to make sure your pet(s) stay(s) calm and comfortable before the booms begin. Call us, or message us to get your prescription filled. Let’s keep the holiday fun for you and peaceful for them. 🐕💙

Hillcrest Family, we want to make all of our clients aware that our internet is currently down, which means we do not have access to our practice management software. This system holds all patient medical histories, vaccination records, allergy information, and prescription details.

Because of this:
• We ARE still able to see sick or urgent care patients.
• We cannot administer vaccines at this time since we cannot safely verify vaccine histories, due dates, or potential allergies.
• Prescription refills may be delayed as we cannot access your pet’s medication records.
• Appointment scheduling, billing, and access to medical records are also impacted.

We are doing our absolute best to continue to care for your pets during this downtime, and we appreciate your understanding and patience as we work through these limitations. 💙🐾
