Honestly, if we were running our dogs on a wire at up to 36 mph, we’d be terrified too😳 We spent years of hard work, effort, and a lot of development costs engineering this system from the ground up with dog-safe physics in mind. Our founder and CEO, Meghan, actually runs professional lure coursing events with equipment that costs thousands of dollars, and she wanted to bring an affordable, downsized, but incredibly safe version right to your backyard.
Here is exactly how our Home kits are engineered to protect your pet:
1️⃣It’s NOT wire (It’s Mason Line): We use a very flexible, ultra-lightweight #18 braided nylon Mason line. Traditional professional lure coursing fields span 10 to 20 acres and require massive, heavy-duty ropes to pull thousands of feet of line. Our line is intentionally much lighter because it's built with a breaking tensile strength of around 150 lbs. If your dog ever gets twisted up or puts too much force on it, the line is literally designed to snap so they don’t get hurt. (And if it does snap? You just tie a quick knot and keep running)
2️⃣The 5-Second Safety Stall: We get asked about friction and rope burn all the time. To solve this, our Home kits have a built-in smart circuit board. The second a pup steps on the line, grabs the flag, or hits unexpected resistance, the motor instantly senses the drag and cuts the power. It completely halts play for exactly 5 seconds, checks the environment, and will only let you spin the motor again once that resistance is totally gone
3️⃣ Flexible Tethers: Our field pulleys and the drive unit aren't rigidly locked into place with heavy stakes. They are anchored via flexible tethers. This is a high-impact sport, and we want to prevent those hyper-sharp, tight turns that put excess stress on your pet's joints
