This cute French Bulldog puppy was adopted through the Superior Pets for Patriotic Vets program recently by Mr. McCracken, making this the 262nd adoption. We are grateful to Mr. McCracken for supporting this program and for the 10 years he served in the US Navy.

U.S. Army Birthday
Join us in celebrating the 250th birthday of the U.S. Army as we remember its founding in 1775 with a week-long celebration lasting through Saturday, June 14. The army originally consisted of volunteer soldiers with roots in the Continental Army and was formed to fight in the Revolutionary War. Today, as the largest branch of our nation's military, the proud men and women of the U.S. Army continue to provide peace and security for all of us.

Flag Day
This celebration occurs each year on the anniversary of the American flag’s official adoption, June 14.

What we know fondly as the “Stars and Stripes” was adopted by the Continental Congress as the official American flag on June 14, 1777, in the midst of the Revolutionary War. Colonial troops fought under many different flags with various symbols.

Ms. Nixon and her friend watched this beautiful lady wander their neighborhood for almost a year before they were finally able to catch her. They decided to come back and adopt her. We appreciate Ms. Nixon for her support of this program and for her 25 years of service to the U.S. Army.

During the We CARE Veterans Fair last week, Mr. Facey took advantage of the Superior Pets for Patriotic Vets program and adopted this handsome pit mix. We wish the Facey family our best and thank Mr. Facey for the 3 years he served with the U.S. Army.

If you are a veterans looking for your furever friend and would like to adopt through the Superior Pets for Patriotic Vets program, go to cobbcounty.org/animal-services to view available pets and make an appointment. The adoption fee is waived for veterans. All pets are spayed/neutered, updated on shots, and microchipped prior to leaving the shelter.

The 3rd Annual We CARE Vet Fair, presented by United Military Care, will take place 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Nov. 1, at the Cobb County Civic Center, 548 S. Marietta Parkway SE, Marietta.

Veterans, Active Duty personnel, members of the National Guard, Reservists, Caregivers, Families, and Survivors are all invited to participate in Georgia's largest Veteran Resource Fair.

Bring your DD214, Medical Documentation, Power of Attorney (if applicable), and identification to meet in person with Service Officers, Claims Specialists, Disability Raters, and Toxic Exposure Representatives. At the event, veterans can enroll in VA Healthcare, which includes medical evaluation.

You only need to preregister for free legal assistance. Click Here to request a free Will, Power of Attorney, or Advanced Health Directive.
