We design, build, and deliver enrichment devices to zoos/aquariums that have animals in human care, utilizing technology and advanced engineering. Most zoos and aquariums are privately owned not-for-profits or rely on donations/memberships to supplement their limited budgets. Animal Enrichment Systems builds these devices at no cost to the facilities. You can help by donating to help us continue to provide safe, quality enrichment that the animals need and enjoy!

🌍 Today is Endangered Species Day, and we’re celebrating tomorrow with a special day at the Zoo, included in daily admission!

The fossa may not be a household name, but this vulnerable predator plays a vital role in Madagascar’s delicate ecosystem. As the island’s top carnivore, fossas help maintain balance in the wild—and their survival is essential to the health of their native forests.

Fossas are just one of many species we’re working to protect through our involvement in Species Survival Plans (SSPs) and Saving Animals From Extinction (SAFE) programs, in partnership with the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. These collaborative efforts help ensure that endangered species don’t vanish from the planet.

Exciting news! We delivered the environmental enrichment device (EED) for Central Florida Zoo’s African Cape Porcupines on Earth Day. The enrichment will be set up as nighttime feeding for the adorable nocturnal porcupines, Pluto and Pancake. The Zoo Keepers did mention that they may set up a feeding session or two during daytime hours so visitors can see the enrichment in action. Pancake and Pluto were released into their habitat after installation of their new EED. The food was dispensed onto a stump to create sound and they headed over to investigate and forage.

Don tested his enrichment device for African Crested Porcupines The timer worked correctly which made our dogs very happy. There is also a video of Don opening the cover, checking the feeder, and closing everything back up. We want this enrichment device to be very user friendly.

We found a great replacement, Shop Raise. It's FREE for online shoppers and FREE for our non-profit. Just download the app, choose your charity, and find your favorite online shopping stores. There are hundreds to choose from including Walmart, Kohls, Macys, Home Depot, Chewy, and PetSmart just to name a few. Shop Raise donates a portion of every purchase to our nonprofit (you can just type in Animal Enrichment Systems)

Animal Enrichment Systems

Don and Cindy Lang have always loved animals and nature. They spend much of their free time observing them in their wild habitats, learning about them in educational zoos and animal sanctuaries, and caring for their own three dogs. Whether it’s planting a garden to attract butterflies, volunteering with the local sea turtle preservation society, bird watching in the wetlands near their home, or engaging with the animal trainers and keepers during zoo and aquarium visits, Don and Cindy have always enjoyed spending time with animals and nature. Animal Enrichment Systems (AES) is in the process of applying for 501C3 non-profit status. AES is 100% volunteer operated so all donations go directly to providing enrichment to the animals that need it.
