Adoption update for Whimbrel:

"Whimbrel is doing great! Shy/scared at first but she is really comfortable now that it’s been a few days for her to get used to her new home! I’ve been calling her “Winnie”. She is such a love and I’m so happy I was able to adopt her!

Here’s an update on the renovations at the Medfield Shelter for everyone who's asking. Work is well underway, and we’re excited to share a look at the progress.

The work includes important updates to our quarantine and cat intake spaces to meet new state guidelines, as well as a complete redesign of our lobby. The new lobby layout will create a much more functional and welcoming space for visitors, community groups, volunteers, and our dedicated staff, and adds a ton of much-needed storage.

When we reached out to Mitchell Construction Group LLC about our renovation needs, the project quickly grew into something more. They brought so many great ideas and designs to the process, and we are pretty excited to see their ideas start to come to fruition. Mitchell has committed to completing the work at cost while donating its commission and design time, and many of its trade partners and vendors have stepped up as well, contributing donated or reduced-cost labor, materials, and services. We are incredibly grateful to Mitchell Construction Group, its trade partners, and vendors for supporting the Shelter and making these improvements possible.

There’s still work to be done, but we’re getting closer, and we can’t wait to share the finished spaces with you!
