The Steeplechase Course is a fifty-acre space that is comprised of flat surfaces, rolling hills, trails, open fields and wooded areas, many of which feature traditional foxhunting obstacles, including, stonewalls, banks, brush jumps, coops, hogbacks, cordwood, and more. The Steeplechase Course is home to many of Norfolk's events including fox hunts, hound schooling, foxhunting clinics, The Norfolk

Hunt Horse Show, Polo In the Country, the Norfolk Hunt Field Hunter Show, and the Norfolk Hunter Trials, among others. Norfolk's traditional Thanksgiving Hunt departs from the Steeplechase Course each year. The Steeplechase Course is land that is preserved and maintained for equestrian use by The Norfolk Hunt Club. Cyclists and horse riders on the Medfield Rail Trail, please help!

The stone dust installation is complete but the material needs time to form a firm and durable surface. Until we have a few significant rain events and the material has settled, *** bikes with skinny tires and horse riders should stay off the trail. ***

Walkers, runners, mountain bikers and touring cyclists - the trail is firm enough for you to use now. Please stay away from the shoulders unless you need to use them to pass safely - they are especially soft.

ATTN: Riders please do not use the rail trail for a few weeks. They need the stone dust to pack down.

On Sunday, June 5, 2022, Norfolk Hunt Clubโ€™s Summer Kick Off Hunter Pace starts at The Norfolk Hunt Club Steeplechase Course at 240 North Street in Medfield, MA. The Pace will begin at 8:00 a.m. with the last rider out at 2:00 p.m.
