Teaching A Dog To Walk On Leash For The First Time

Training is and never has only been for puppies, and this is a prime example of such. Here, Miss Penny gets her fresh restart as she learns how to walk on a leash. She is also learning house manners, crate training, and confidence building. Penny is a little rockstar and has so much potential.

Exciting news! We are offering 3 brand new entirely virtual classes that are available for anybody, anywhere to participate! Perfect for the snowy, winter season.

Each class will have slightly varying curriculum and each week will offer new and exciting learning activities for you and your dog to participate in.

Each class has 10 working spots, so grab your seat fast, this offer won't last!

How classes work:
Each week, a new video assignment will be posted along with detailed information and instructions going over how to workshop difficulties training it and the benefits of teaching the skill. I will also offer accommodations for dogs at a lower or higher level so everyone of every level can participate in the fun!

Students will film themselves and their dogs completing the assignment and submit it for grading. This gives me the ability to work with everybody 1:1 and offer training advice where is needed!

I hope you'll join the fun! I look forward to seeing you in class!

We overwhelm dogs.

With virtually everything we do, our lifestyles are unnatural to the canine. The fragrant scents we use in our homes.
The glittery explosives we shoot into the air to celebrate the new year or independence.
The hugs and the kisses and the squeezes despite their body language telling us to release them and that they merely tolerate it.

There are moments in training, where it is good to push the dog outside their comfort zone, to build confidence and show them that they can do hard things.

There are times in training where the explosive reward is what is needed to excite them just enough that you can use that frustration to build drive for the activity.

There are times where you need to be quiet, and sit with the dog, and let them show you what they need. Not everything needs to be a "praise party". Not every dog wants to be touched as their reward. Not every dog enjoys a lot of talking in session.

Sometimes, the best thing you can do for a dog, is be quiet, and watch.

The dog chooses what is reinforcing or aversive to them, and what traditionally may be seen as "good" may not be a dog's cup of tea. Between head shyness, sight sensitivity, and stability issues, we want to make sure we are paying attention to what the dog wants and not what we think they want.

I have been made aware of false allegations being spread about my significant other that have raised concerns regarding the safety of the animals in my care.

I would like to reiterate that these are FALSE accusations by an uninvolved party who has no involvement with my professional work or training practices. The safety and well being of the animals in my care is my UTMOST priority, and nothing matters to me more than transparency.

I encourage everyone to utilize the ability to fact check information, and not believe everything they hear on the internet. This is the only public statement I will be making about this situation going forward and I appreciate everyone's respect to this wish.

Thank you to all of my clients and friends who are standing behind me in this💕 I appreciate you so much.

Evidence can be fact checked against available court systems. We are handling this situation through the proper channels. Some statements being shared are part of a broader pattern of harassment and has been appropriately documented.
