Nana weighs approximately 110 pounds and has a beautiful rough coat. She is spayed, current on all vaccinations and heartworm negative. She does have an extra long tongue which she was either born with or it was due to trauma sometime in her life. It does not affect her ability to eat or drink, she just has a very long tongue. She is approximately 3-5 years old, has a great disposition and is ready and looking forward to finding a wonderful new forever-home. She did get along with hanky Panky before he was adopted. We suggest her being an only dog ! Though we might consider trying her with a submissive dog.

Won’t you consider adopting this sweet funny girl!!

We are so very heartbroken to hear our beloved Alum Penny ( previously Racheal) passed away yesterday. She came to her owner before right before and passed away in her arms being held like the precious girl she was.

Penny was one of our miracle dogs that we saved. Back in 2016 we got three pups we rescued from a puppy mill. We named one Rachel and the two pups sugar ( now Reagan living in CO) and spice.

Rachel was scare out of her mind from being traumatized. We had to keep a 20ft lead on her at all times because it would take three people to trick her back inside cuz we couldn’t get near her. We sat in her run with any spare time we had. Amber use to eat her lunch with her and just sit in there just getting her use to people. Trying to get her to trust not all people are bad. We finally had a foster take her in and work with her one on one for several month until she was finally able to get adopted. The owners have had her sense 2016 and have keep in contact with us on her progress and even adopted our Alum Bunny( one of Betty Lou’s pups from a two year back)

The first two pictures are when she was with us and the others are over the years with her family.

Penny did very well in their care.
They spent their the first few months approaching her on their hands and knees to get her comfortable with them. It was a lot of work but definitely worth it.
After that she has no problem getting up in our business and was a very chatty girl.

Some of Penny's favorite things were car rides and going to the beach, she loves playing in the water on lake Michigan where we're at now. If she smells the sand on your shoes when you go without her she will pout the rest of the day. She loves big smothering hugs and will swat at you for more cuddles. If she smells you eating ice cream she will come bug you until you give her some of her own.

These stories and memories is what makes us do what we do and struggle to keep saving these dogs for a better life!! We are so sorry to hear about her passing and are so greatful for the wonderful life her family made for this wonderful dog!!

RIP Penny, you were so very much loved!!!

🧸 Meet Bear: The Sweetest Newfiedoodle You’ll Ever Meet! 🧸
We are located in McKinney Texas.

We would love to introduce the newest member of the St. Cloud’s family: Bear! To put it simply, this boy is as cute as a button and as sweet as you could ever ask for.
Bear is a gorgeous 4-year-old Newfoundland / Poodle mix (Newfiedoodle) who weighs in at a handsome 85 pounds. He has a heart of gold and a face you can't help but smile at!
🏡 Bear's Perfect Home:
Because we want Bear and his future family to succeed, we are looking for a specific environment for him. Bear’s ideal home will be an adult-only home OR a home with older children (ages 10 and up).
A Note on Bear’s Ideal Match: Bear was surrendered because his previous family noted he could become possessive of his people, which became difficult to manage with small children and a constant stream of visitors. While Bear has been an absolute perfect gentleman since arriving at the rescue, we want to respect his history and ensure he is set up for success in a calm, structured environment.
📋 The Quick Facts:
* Breed: Newfoundland / Poodle Mix (Newfiedoodle)
* Age: ~4 years old
* Weight: 85 lbs
* Health: Neutered, fully current on all of his shots, and heartworm negative!
Bear is a wonderful, loving dog who just needs a family that understands his breed mix, can provide a little structure, and has plenty of room for 85 pounds of pure affection.

Update on Alum Peaches!!!

We found out today that Peaches passed the intermediate level of dog training today! She went to the vet for vaccinations and the heart worm test came back negative! So the treatment we started and the new adopters continued worked!

We do the slow kill method of treatment when our pups have a heartworm positives test. This consists of giving monthly prevention for heart-worms every single month without fail for a year. Peaches along with our Alum Hanky Panky. Both tested positive for heart-worms and after a year of prevention both recovered with a negative testing after the year.

This slow kill method does work and is much safer!!

Holly enjoying her time outside today. She is now up to 80 pounds.

Thanks to everyone for helping us save Miss Holly. We are still having issues with her insulin and getting it regulated. However, she is a totally different dog than she was three months ago, starved to death.
