Brother is even going on day 3 of no nibbling he knows now if him looking up and smiling isn’t enough for attention sitting like a goodboy sure is!

We’ve been leveraging kibble for training on top of their normal feeding so both are looking much heartier than when we picked them up from the shelter. Happy tail wise after trying a night without sleeping next to their crate (it’s been a long 2 weeks) they showed they were very much into chewing themselves over the hard chews…after several vet conversations we were told it was not an immediate need to amputate 😅 (I accept the “dramatic” title now)

Brother is much more willing to go out in heat while sister will literally pause the moment she steps out of the shade and look at you like 👀 you serious, 🤌 but potty walks must happen since they are big but still technically have puppy bladders (4-5 potty breaks a day keeps the crate cleaner away)

𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻, 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘸𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘥𝘰𝘨 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘢 𝘧𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘺.

Not in the first video, was the painful yelp/whine he let out before he flopped over (2nd pic) whimpering as he refused to walk back to the shelter kennel.

I lift heavy so I can save dogs, and in this moment I needed to do both at the same time.

As I carried him I couldn’t fight the tears as he tucked his large boxy head into my neck against my shoulder. And putting him back in that cement kennel definitely didn’t make it any easier.

The first adopter didn’t work out because the resident dogs were unfixed, and unfortunately because of his size and gender they may have felt overly protective of their space and family, him without a safe space wasn’t the right mix.

This last home fell through because of a horse (not sure on the notes) but I was told he was fine with their chickens. I brought up how I noticed improvement on his leash skills to the staff after leashing him up, and they let me know the previous attempt adopter worked his leash handling a ton over the weekend they tried to make it work.

Even though Billiard has been seen at plenty events kissing and being friendly with several other dogs, because of the adoptive notes Billiard is consider selective, which means he may need a home either without other animals or with an experienced handler that actually understands giving dogs time for decompression (their own safe space, no immediate introductions, crate and rotate) time and consistent boundaries. These are experienced responsible dog ownership basics.

Can we just discuss how perfectly the same but still different the twins look for a moment?

He is such a boy looking dog serving goofy-vibes while she carries the softest doe-eyed gentle role!

Both will make some incredible additions to some seriously lucky homes.

Just over a week out from intake and Brother is now almost as big as sister but she has a deeper chest and taller physique. Both are large breed pups guesstimated to be about 1 year old. Both know sit, come, and crate now but will need someone that will be firm on boundaries and training since they are a strong breed ♥️ if you had to guess what they are mixed with what would YOU guess? We can all see the Dane but does anyone else see giant greyhound mixed in?
