We have lots of darling kittens right now and that includes the "B" litter - 5 males (Buddy, Bruno, BeeBop, Baxter, and Barney) and 1 female (Buffy). They are friendly and playful. They are 3-1/2 months old and they will be spay / neutered when they are old enough. Names are listed under the pictures. Contact us if you'd like to meet them!

Microchips work! Update: This dog was microchipped and was missing for several months. The Owners are on the way!

Found Dog: Hamilton Branch State Park (Plum Branch, McCormick County, SC)
This skinny dog was at Hamilton Branch State Park in Plum Branch. If you are the Owner, please call the store 864-333-2223 between 9-5. They are reporting it to the McCormick County Sheriff Department and hopefully they can come out and check for a microchip. We can help provide some supplies but we have no room for this pup. If anyone knows a rescue that can take it, please reach out!

PAW PATROL: As our heat wave builds, please be cognizant of where you're walking with your furry friends. While air temperatures might only be in the 90s, both asphalt and concrete will be MUCH hotter, enough to burn your pups paws.

The HSMC Thrift Store is open today (Saturday 6/21/25) from 9 am to 1 pm and we have had some lovely pieces donated. Stop in and help support cat and dog rescue! The address is 210 S. Mine Street, McCormick, SC 29835, across from Burger King.

The Furniture Showroom has sofas, tables, chairs, lamps, rugs, pictures and more. The main Thrift Store Building has kitchenware, small appliances, glassware, linens, luggage, lighting, exercise equipment, home decor, collectibles, etc.

We also accept donations during the hours we are open. Please contact us if you need furniture pick-up.

The HSMC is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization focused on helping cats and dogs find good homes and reducing the number of unwanted litters through our low-cost spay and neuter program and free TNR for outside, unowned cats.

Rabies Fair - June 21st 11 am - 1 pm
First 200 McCormick County pets will get a rabies shot & exam for FREE!
Plus we will be giving out supplies from our CHEWY tractor trailer to those with pets receiving a rabies shot (while supplies last).

Exam with vaccine cost $15 - First 200 McCormick County pets get it for FREE!

Please have your pets in carriers or on a leash. Remain in your car until called by the mobile unit team.

We received a great update on Rex. He is healing and doing much better after having surgery on both of his back legs. Thank you so much giving and helping this sweet guy live a better life!!!!

Thank you Wilkes County Veterinary Service for taking great care of Delilah on a Saturday afternoon!

(Delilah was spayed on Friday and broke her stitches today. It is not easy finding a vet to help on a Saturday afternoon. They were very professional and gave Delilah excellent care.)
