PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

🐾 Service Dogs Are Not Babysitters. 🐾

Service dogs are highly trained working animals. They are medical and behavioral support tools — not childcare providers.

While they can assist with grounding, interrupting behaviors, mobility support, and other trained tasks, they are not responsible for supervising children. That responsibility belongs to adults.

Using a service dog appropriately:
✔️ As a trained support partner
✔️ To assist with specific, task-based needs
✔️ Alongside active adult supervision

Not appropriate:
❌ Replacing parental supervision
❌ Managing unsafe behavior alone
❌ Expecting the dog to “parent” a child

Service dogs deserve respect, protection, and proper working conditions.
They are partners in care — not substitutes for it.

Let’s support our service dogs the right way. 💛

🚨Adoption Needed🚨

Everyone meet Opal. Opal is part of our Ferry Tail Program where we train a rescue dog from the local rescues and put them through our 4 week on and off leash program to make them more adoptable. She is a 4 year old 45 pound female Pitty. What she lacks in size she makes up for in energy and personality. She plays well with other dogs but plays rough as most Pitty’s do. Opal is one of those dogs that can run all day, go for a hike or sit in the couch under the blankets on a rainy day. She loves affection and would make a great addition to an active home. Her training will be complete and she will be ready to be adopted on Friday March 6th. By the end of her training she will know sit, down, implied stay, loose leash walking with an auto sit, place and an off leash recall. She will also come with a go home letter covering all commands, all training collars and equipment. If you are interested please reach out to us or the Humane Society of McCormick County to set up a meet and greet.
