Massena Humane Society The Massena Humane Society is a private animal shelter in upstate New York. We have a 100% adoption rate with adoptable animals.

Our facility is open to visitors by appointment only, Monday - Saturday from 1 to 5 pm to adopt animals and admit incoming strays. We contract with the towns of Louisville, Norfolk, Massena, Dickinson, and Brandon to provide sheltering services for their homeless/stray animals. Local residents are encouraged to contact us with any litters of puppies or kittens. If space is available we would prefe

r to admit them to ensure they are spayed or neutered before being placed in their new home. Our adoptable animals are posted on our website at Massena.petfinder.com. Adoption fees include spay/neuter and age appropriate vaccinations before being adopted. The Massena Humane Society is proud to offer a low income spay/neuter clinic for residents in our community. We wish to assist responsible pet owners on a limited budget. Please pick up an application from our lobby, provide proof of income, and get your pet scheduled for an appointment. Please be aware: For the protection of our animals, our facility and grounds are under video surveillance.

Two litters of puppies available for adoption!! One litter is group of 3 month old purebred Standard Poodles AND a litter of 8 week old Golden Retrievers mixes (dad unknown). 😍🥰😘UPDATE: Rascal has been adopted to a wonderful new home!! Congratulations Taneal, you hit the jackpot with Rascal! We miss him already.

Rascal is up for adoption! He is an amazing boy who has learned to trust people again. It took a while to bond with him and cheeseburgers were the way to his heart! Now he can't get enough cuddling time. This absolutely adorable boy is about 35 pounds and will not get any larger. He would be a perfect fit for someone who wants a dog for a best friend because he will never want to leave your side. He is neutered, vaccinated and all ready to go. More amazing news! Another one of our long time residents has finally found her forever home! Sage waited patiently for the perfect spot and boy did she find it! We are looking for a microwave. Ours stopped working and some of our weaker animals need their food warmed. Would anyone have an extra microwave sitting around that could be donated to the shelter? We wanted to check with everyone before we purchased one.🐶🐱💕

❤️Thank you all for your recent online donations and amazon orders off our Amazon wish list!! We recently had a fund raiser for an emaciated chocolate lab and the donations truly brought tears to our eyes. We wish we could tell him how much support he received from you! Here are updated photos of this sweet guy. He is progressing nicely and having weighed in at 38 pounds upon arrival he is now just over 50! His coat is shiny and bright and his muscle tone is coming back. Compare his photos to our December 12th post. He is still not yet available for adoption but we will keep updating his progress. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts and his!! Edited to add: He is absolutely happy and greets us with tail and butt wags. He loves his warm soft bed too! He is one sweet boy.

We want to pay tribute to our friend, supporter and fellow dog lover, Frenchie Coupal. We will truly miss his energy, generosity and support. Anyone who knew Frenchie knew how he loved his Golden Retrievers. We matched him up with several dogs over the years, knowing that any dog lucky enough to be a part of the Coupal household would have truly won the lottery. "Find me a dog", he would say.

Frenchie was there assisting us when outfitting a new surgical spay/neuter suite and never asked for recognition. He had the true spirit of giving and genuinely took care of all of us in the north country.

Let's remember him by supporting each other, being kind, and doing what good we can in our community. There is no greater way to honor this amazing man. He will be truly missed. 💖

If space is available we would prefer to admit them to ensure they are spayed or neutered before being placed in their new home. Our adoptable animals are posted on our website at Massena.petfinder.com. Adoption fees are kept low and all animals are spayed/neutered, and vaccinated before being adopted. We welcome our Canadian neighbors and provide animal health records required to cross the border. The Massena Humane Society is proud to offer a low income spay/neuter clinic for residents in our community. We wish to assist responsible pet owners on a limited budget.
