Our hearts are heavy today as we say goodbye to our precious Drums. Despite the tireless, around-the-clock efforts of our medical team, he passed away during the night.
Drums had been fighting a difficult battle since crashing earlier this week. Though he was in critical care and we fought for every breath alongside him, he is now at rest.
We are so deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support for Drums. Rest in peace, sweet Drums.❤️.

Drums is still in critical care. He survived the night with the aid of an oxygen chamber. Drums is spending time today and a shower bed where he is being closely monitored and receiving breathing treatments throughout the day. Thank you for your prayers and healing energies 🌟❤️‍🩹🙏🐢!

🚨Boat Strike Injury Awareness🚨

We have seen an increase in sea turtles admitted to our hospital over the past few days due to boat strikes, and we want to share simple ways you can help prevent these injuries and protect marine life.

When boating, keep an extra set of eyes on the water, especially in shallow areas. Having someone positioned up on the bow wearing polarized sunglasses can help spot turtles before it’s too late.

Other ways to practice boat safety is slowing down in coastal and shallow waters, watching for movement near the surface, and giving marine life the space they need to survive.

Sharing the water starts with awareness. Please slow down and help protect sea turtles.🐢 ❤️‍🩹

A look back at 2025 here at The Turtle Hospital 🐢🌟

This year was filled with inspiring stories of turtles with incredible strength—stories that moved us, challenged us, and reminded us why we do what we do. In 2025, we rescued 97 sea turtles and returned 73 back to their ocean home. 🌊

Thank you all for being a part of the stories that gave these turtles a second chance. ❤️ We can’t wait to continue making waves in 2026🐢🌊
