Well hello friends. I am here with a long awaited update… The Keys To Dog Training is open again. ☀️🙌🏻
Over the past month I have been seeing clients, doing some boarding and 1:1’s. It’s time to make it official with this announcement.
I would like to thank everyone for their support and patience as we have navigated the heartbreak of multiple losses and cancer diagnoses in this past year.
Sadly, we lost Loki in May. We were able to extend our time with him longer than expected and we are so thankful for that. He had a beautiful last day where he was very spoiled and loved by so many people. (Thank you to those who showed up for him.) He came to me in a dream and I feel he is at peace.
Gruffy’s prognosis was 4-5 months. I had no expectation that he would make it past May but he has surprised me. I truly cannot believe we are approaching August together but I am so, SO grateful. February through mid April were incredibly hard figuring out his palliative care. If he had a bad day, I had a bad day… there were lots of ups and downs but we are in a good place now. I just continue to pray for more great days as we continue to live each to its fullest.
I will not be back to the intense schedule I was but I am happily seeing clients again! 🐶🐾

This has been a really hard thing to come to.
I became a dog trainer because of my own personal dogs- specifically because of Gruff. I made a promise to myself that I would never put my dogs second to the business. I feel I have stayed true to that every day for the past 2 1/2 years. And I hope to continue my work as a trainer for many more years. I wish I could help every family that needs me but right now I don’t have anything to give.
I am taking space to be with my family and allow my heart to grieve the massive losses we continue to experience.
I will be back.
I can’t say that I am looking forward to being back because that will mean we have lost Gruff and Loki but I know seeing so many of your kind faces and sweet pups will help heal my heart a little more- when I am ready.

For those of you wondering “Is she ever going to announce group classes?!” Well, this is now the newest obstacle I am dealing with. A new home being constructed behind our property. If my downstairs was enclosed, it wouldn’t be so much of an issue. The only solution I have is a park, anyone down for that?

I really don’t understand how Rebel is not adopted yet. He lived with us for 15 weeks and in the time I trained him to do so many things. He was a rockstar. The only thing that he was really pushy about was leash walking but with the proper tools, he did awesome for me. Also, one time he hoovered my plate of pierogis.
😂 That was really traumatic.

Rebby would be an awesome playmate for another dog. I never had a problem with him, even after an off leash dog snuck up on us, he just looked to his buddies (my pack) for support.

He just needs the right family to make him their own. 🥹

We started our new year volunteering at the Florida Keys Children’s Shelter with Bingley and Birdie. The puppies were a hit with the sweet kids, there were even a few junior dog handlers in the making! 🥰
