I started my business in 2021. I spoke English—but not well enough to confidently teach in it. So I spent hours in classes and books learning how to communicate effectively. Somewhere along the way, I damn near forgot my own language. 😂

Then came learning dogs—and that might be the most humbling process of all.

Genetics. Learning theory. Neuroscience. Brain chemistry. Handling. Client communication. Admin. Taxes. Laws. Nobody teaches you this when you turn your passion into a business.

You learn by doing. You learn by making mistakes—and, if you’re smart, by learning from other people’s mistakes too.

Almost 6 years later, I still feel lost some days. Easy dogs make work easy. Hard dogs keep you humble. They test your knowledge, patience, grit and commitment.

My advice? Never stop learning. Connect with other professionals. Ask for help. Help others. Give as much as you take. Stay away from jealousy, drama and people who only use you.

And if you’re new to dog training and need someone to talk to—I’m here. No judgment. I might be frank and direct, but if I can help, I will.
