Boarding options in the city may be convenient, but are they giving your dog what they need? While you take your vacation why not give your dog a vacation as well?

Akela K9 Services might be a bit of a hike from Chicago, but with pick up and drop of services offered with all board and train programs that’s no excuse. Give your dog the same break from city life you need every once in a while, give them a chance to roam 18 acres of forests and fields at Akela K9 Services Maple Park facility.

Not off leash trained? No issue! We have multiple paddocks including an acre of fenced in space for dogs to train, exercise, and socialize securely.

While you’re on vacation we’ll give your dog a chance to unwind, explore, and train in a stress free environment so they’re as refreshed as you are when you both get back home on top of having learned some new skills!

Northern IL and surrounding areas - if you’re looking for protection sport or competition obedience training/coaching we’d love for you to consider our team!

Our team’s success in competition continues to provide proof of concept to prospective clients looking to have success trialing a dog in protection sports.

Every Akela K9 trainer has competed with multiple dogs and has titled at least one. We have competed with and earned certificates or titles with several different breeds, from Malinois to Mastiffs and mixed breeds.

Our team also includes two PSA certified decoys, one of which was selected to decoy at the regional level in 2024.

We know you have options in the area and we appreciate everyone who chooses us!

We’re incredibly grateful to our friends, clients, and larger community seeing the responses to the events we’ve announced recently.

A mock PSA trial, special guest bite nights, workshops, and seminars are not easy to organize. We appreciate everyone who has booked spots, shared posts, offered to be a vendor etc. it’s incredibly exciting for us to bring some of the best trainers and competitors across multiple disciplines to the Chicagoland area, and we’re grateful to those who have made it possible.

We’re working to get a couple more VERY exciting events put together for the back half of this year and can’t wait to make some of the best training in the world accessible to the area.
