After your photo shoot, we’ll have spring bows & bandannas available to help your pet look their absolute best for Spring (or thinking Spring thoughts with this April weather!)

💛 Community Giveback Opportunity:
If you’d like to participate, we’ll be collecting spring cleaning supplies to donate to BENCHS Humane Society as they prepare for busy puppy & kitten season.

Suggested donations include:
• Paper towels
• Laundry detergent
• Dish soap
• Bleach
• Reusable rubber gloves

(Not required — just a way to spread a little extra good!)

🐶 Please keep pets leashed while waiting.
🏡 Follow the side walk to the greenhouse back door (rear of the building facing the apartment building or towards the hospital).
📝 We will have a waiver for you to sign, giving authorization for us to use your pets photos in our local advertising, website, and a chance to be featured ON the building!
🐱 Indoor event — snow or clouds, we are here!

Exciting News!
I am thrilled to announce that I will be opening a full-service veterinary clinic in Mankato! Cedar Ridge Veterinary Clinic will open doors in late spring to early summer 2026!
We are excited to grow into the old Hilltop Florist building at 885 Madison Ave, Mankato.

We will provide high-quality care for your dogs and cats. From wellness visits all the way to a local surgery center, providing procedures ranging from spays, neuters, dental cleanings, and extractions to more complex procedures, we will be here to support your pet's health every step of the way!

We can't wait to meet you and your furry family members! Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to opening day and an exciting opportunity to have YOUR PET featured in our local advertising!

Example Pet Food Transition:

Hello Friends,
Our youngest cat Cedar, recent had his second emergency surgery to remove an intestinal obstruction and collect biopsies. He is recovering and doing well but will now be starting a new food given the information learned from his biopsy results.

As I was preparing to set up the food transition, I thought I would take a few photos and explain how I transition my own pets from one food to the next.

To start, I've labeled three bags with the following ratios:
Bag 1: 3/4 old food to 1/4 new food,
Bag 2: 1/2 old food to 1/2 new food,
Bag 3: 1/4 old food to 3/4 new food.

My plan, feed him twice daily through bag 1, then bag 2, then bag 3. After bag 3, he will have 100% of his new food.

Cedar eats from a SureFeeder, which allows him to have free access to graze on food throughout the day while preventing our older two cats from excessive snacking and obesity. This is a great option for households that both food responsible and food indulgent kitties.

Come join me and the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association at the Mankato Children’s Museum today! I am excited to help with Veterinary Day at the museum from 9 AM to 11:30 AM!

In collaboration with the MVMA Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association, we are having a Kids Vet Clinic event! Learn about what animal doctors do for animals large and small! Talk to real veterinarians, technicians, nutritionists and caretakers. Look at X-rays, check out teeth and bones and bring your stuffie for a check up!
There will also be some very special guests... Baby Lambs!

I acknowledge with sadness the passing of a special person in my life, my Auntie Sheri. She was instrumental in the founding of Halo Pet Care and was one of my biggest supporters from the very beginning. She generously gave her time to help me structure and prepare paperwork, all to benefit me and the future animals and people we would help. I am thankful to have had her in my life. She will be greatly missed.
