Not sexy. Not finished. Not a hunting dog. YET. This was a sweet little exposure to a pigeon - Billyā€™s desire to chase that bird is a perfect show of prey drive. Without prey drive youā€™ve got A LOT of work ahead of you and your dog. We can work with this. Remember, instinct is MAJOR, but exposure is just as important.

Donā€™t feel frustrated when your puppy acts like a puppy!

Lacy is from our Callie X George breeding. I gave Lacy to Charlotte, our 6 year old- so sheā€™s NEVER leaving my kennel. This pup has more natural instinct and prey drive than Iā€™ve seen in a long time - she is the spunkiest kid ever! So smart, and just absolutely crazy about carrying and retrieving just about anything she can pick up. She is currently (itā€™s been going on for 5 minutes) learning that if she moves, the fly will leave. IF SHE MOVES THE FLY WILL LEAVE. HOLY SH*T FOLKS SHES STEADYING HERSELF ON FLIES!!

Lacy will be 4 months old in 2 days!

Itā€™s going to be fun to watch Lacy turn into a bird dog!!

PUPdate - Itā€™s almost 10:00 on a Sunday, but I ha to share it - told me ā€œShe pretty cool. Iā€™ve just been letting her chase some pigeons to do a soft gun intro as she chases. 3 birds and she will do thatā€ Cody then proceeded to tell me, ā€œWell Iā€™ll say this, you canā€™t have her back lolā€

That makes my heart happy ā¤ļø

There were 4 hens with this rooster. I only caught 2 of them on camera, but itā€™s fun to see em matching up!
