🌵Introducing Robert! 🌵

Robert is around 6 years old and is a 50 lb Australian Shepherd mix. This sweet boy came in with an embedded collar and has now healed over. Robert is super sweet and absolutely LOVES treats. He is dog friendly and is good with kids. We believe Robert is housebroken as he tends to keep a clean kennel. Robert is a little older but still has energy to play and run. He would love a home where he can get plenty of snacks and be loved on by his people.

Please share. These two pups (who we are positive are siblings) were found two different spots in the county. Pup on the left wondered up to a house on Prairie Plains rd. Pup on the right was seen being tossed out of a car near Cracker Barrel in Manchester.

🌺 Trainer Talk Tuesday 🌺

Introducing our newest resource and doggie loving friend, Kathryn of Turbo Tails. Kathryn is a ABCDT Certified Dog Trainer who has been using her free time to help us assess dogs! It is also Kathryn’s BIRTHDAY TODAY! Her help has been such a valuable tool for us to help fit people with the right dogs while also addressing behavioral problems we come across.

South, one of our longest residents, is a 7 month old mixed breed who has been waiting for her family. She is dog, kid and cat friendly. She would make a great companion for someone wanting an older puppy who will be easier to potty train.

Tomorrow will mark 50 days since Elvis was surrendered by his family. He would love a home where he can play and run. Elvis misses being inside!

Elvis is around 2 years old and 45 lbs. This baby boy was surrendered and has been waiting for his new home. He gets along great with kids and dogs. We don’t see him having a problem with cats. This boy has the best facial impressions and is just a shadow to his humans. He just wants to be with people ❤️

💎 Happy National Spoil Your Dog Day 💎

We are yet again introducing Dustin! This boy has been waiting for a home for 125 days (almost 18 weeks). His adoption fee is sponsored to help push his adoption. When visitors came on Saturday, Dustin wouldn’t come out of his kennel and instead just stares. When we first got Dustin he was so happy and would come rushing to the fence to see everyone. This is what kennel depression does to dogs who stay in shelters too long. Dustin has been here too long and needs to find his home NOW.

Kennel depression affects all dogs differently and doesn’t have a set time frame on when it hits dogs. It is now effecting Dustin and all he does is sit in his kennel, not wanting to approach visitors and no longer seeks out attention. Dustin has been repeatedly passed over for a puppy or a “small breed dog”. He’s one of many shelter dogs being overlooked due to his age and looks. Dustin needs a miracle. 🔔 Great Week Alert 🔔

We have so many people to thank this week! We are so thankful for our two doggie adoptions and hope Bragg & Harper love their new homes!

We are so thankful for Be Like Cheryl for the pallet of food donations. This is such a wonderful gift and we now don’t have to worry about adult food for the month. We are so incredibly thankful.

We want to send a huge shout out to our northern rescues for transporting 10 dogs and puppies this week. We really needed the space and hope they find wonderful homes.

Thank you Nashville Humane Association for taking some of our dogs. We are so appreciative.

Thank you Rachel Pavuk for transporting and fostering Izzy before she heads to her northern rescue. We had a wonderful rescue up north offer to take in Izzy. Izzy will now be able to get the extra TLC she needs to start her long journey to recover.

Finally, thank you everyone that came out to our adoption event. We didn’t have any adoptions on Saturday unfortunately but the dogs really loved the increase in visitors and all the dog treats!

We are OPEN today!

Come out from 9am to 11am to see our dogs. Last event we only got a handful of people. We would love to see a larger crowd this time. Even if you’re not adopting, our dogs would love to see you.

Unfortunately our adoptions have declined and that includes our visitors. Our dogs are BORED! Please come by and BYOT (Bring your own treats). Our dogs LOVE hot dogs, milk bones, hot dogs, chews & did I say hot dogs yet?

Bring grandma, the kids, second cousins I guess… We can’t wait to see you today!

📸 SENIOR SPOTLIGHT 📸

Trooper is officially off stray hold and looking for a forever home. Trooper is around 10 years old and is your basic old man. He needs a home where he can spend his last few years loved and cherished. He is good with cats and dogs! Trooper is housebroken but does have small, old man bladder 😅

Troopers Ideal Home:
- Someone who is home a lot (frequent p*e breaks)
- Understands he loves a nap, or two, or three…
- Moves at his own pace 🐇
- Loves to pace and walks constantly so will need patience
- Seniors can be expensive. We currently have him scheduled for neuter and shots but older dogs can have unpredictable expenses.

Please submit an application if interested in Trooper, he is a very good boy who has lived a hard life. Application and video of Trooper is in the comments.

🌈ADOPTION EVENT THIS SATURDAY🌈

Come out and see all our dogs and puppies we have available for adoption. We will be open this Saturday, August 9th from 9am to 11am. Make sure to submit your application to adopt as we cannot verify vet references on weekends.

BYOT (Bring your own treats!) Even if your not adopting, our dogs love visitors and seeing all the kids! Bring a box of treats and hand out some love to our furry friends! Make sure to stop by at our longest residents, Dustin & Puddle! They sure would love a foster or home to get them out of the shelter 💔
