We know some of you are waiting on hearing what we get from the new hatch. They are coming, and we have some bantam Brahma mixes in this hatch! When we candled some were a little bit behind the others in development, so this hatch is taking a little more time. When hatching is complete we will get a total count and pictures. We finally made room in Flock #1 for our guy, Gus and his ladies! Our plan this season is for this flock to become more focused on pure bred Old English and Seramas, they do share the space with our small LF flock and some of our OG girls are in this flock and have been their whole lives, so they will stay here as well.

Just to update any who may have been waiting for the Manchester farm center poultry swap meet this Saturday, it has been postponed to next Saturday, 3/22 due to the potential bad weather. We will be available for public meet-ups this Saturday, 3/15.

We are also still expecting our next hatch for 3/19! We will make an update of our total expected to hatch once we do our last candle before lockdown. Stay tuned!

Our 3/4/25 hatch is off to a great start with 40 chicks so far!

We are working a little more than usual this week and a few of you that are waiting to hear from us can expect to on Saturday, as by then hatching should be finished and we will have a better idea of what all we have.

As usual these will be ready for brooders next week and we will be available for public meet-ups Wednesday and Thursday (3/12 & 3/13) as well as plan to participate at the first Manchester farm center poultry swap meet of this season on Saturday 3/15.

We still have 10 chicks looking for new brooders from our 2/20/25 hatch, all thriving, active, and ready to steal your hearts!

Good morning everyone! We just wanted to update for our upcoming 3/4 hatch. We candled everything last night before lockdown today and are expecting up to 60 chicks to hatch again. Still haven't collected anything from our Polish girls yet, but hoping to have 2 hatch from our Maran/Mystic Onyx mix hen. Stay tuned!

Good morning fellow chicken tenders!

We like to be as transparent as we can with everyone. Yesterday morning before we both worked, we went to check some of the chicks in our brooder room and we were devastated to find that we had a pretty substantial loss overnight Thursday into Friday from the temperature drop. This was a lesson learned for us, usually we don't hatch this early but since we set up our brooder room last spring, we thought the chicks would be safe in there with how we have everything set up.
We worked quickly to get them moved to a stronger temperature controlled environment, and we still have about 30, with more on the way expected to hatch 3/4.
Here is a sneak peek at what some of the chicks are looking like this season. We're getting many more color varieties so far than we have in the past! They will be ready for new brooders in a few days and we will be available for meeting up this coming Wednesday and Thursday (2/26-2/27). No Standard/LF chicks yet.

We hope everyone is staying warm and safe through this cold weather and little bit of snow. The first batch of chicks are hatching currently! This can be a slow process, and we appreciate your patience, understanding, and support from those that are waiting. We will get pictures and a total count when hatching is finished 😊

This guy goes by Jess. He's a Black Frizzle Cochin about 11 months old, good with the ladies, he does like to play but is not aggressive about it and will let you pick him up.

We have 51 chicks! We're letting the incubator continue to run to see if any more are still going to hatch. So far they're all doing great, we will post on Monday 3/4 with how many will be ready for brooders by 3/7.

While we just named the flock the Stormtroopers until they grew old enough to be sexed, they're beginning to get Addams Family names 🤣 So far we've named the silver roos Gomez and Fester, and our gold roo is Lurch. Loving watching them grow!
